Just wrap the pipe w/exhaust wrap and it will be fine. Hey it's different but with some good heat shielding it will work.

Helps very much!

Option 1: 1929cc
M44 Crank
S50 Pistons

Option 2: 1947cc
M44 Crank
S52 Pistons

Option 3: 1997cc
M47 crank
M44 Pistons shaved 2.5mm

Ive looked for an M47 crank for a long time. They are hard to find in the states, looks like you have had better luck overseas. If you know of another one, please let me know. The reason i was looking for the M44 crank was simply for ease of finding the damn parts!

Anyway to run M47 crank, with shaved S52 pistons? Assuming the M47 crank is 87.9mm stroke, with S52 pistons of 86.4mm then the displacement would be roughly 2061cc?

Still, what headgasket is used?

Just turbo the damn thing already, you know you want it.

Great another turbo in the future!
I hope that this will help to put the word end to common phrase: "these engines can't be boosted... turbo will blow the engine. bla bla bla..." :D
The engine doesn't blow if there is knowledged man working at it, knowing the limit until he can push it without damage it.
Usually people ask too much from stock internals and then blame the engine... or they do WRONG things not knowing how they works and then blame the engine :(
There are far worse engines than this that has been turboed, so I don't want to see those phrases anymore in this forum:D
The new M42/M44 turbo era is beginning:cool:

Good & tight how many manifold you've sold? (just to know how many m42 turbo there will be :D )
Have sold five, I still have 2 left. Any takers ?

-thanks kevin

I think it would since there is a good amount of room around the fender well area.

i used a 5mm washer under the pass side and i put a e28 535 engine mount on drivers side it is shorter then the m42 mount so it gave me more then enough clearance and does not hit the body anymore i also had to bend in the strut tower a bit to clear the down pipe.

Thanks for posting up the pics. Where did you add the wastegate?
Nice clean install, how much boost are you running?

i bought one of these and it fits great you just have to put a washer under the pass side motor mount otherwise clearance is to small and the turbo hits the body hell of a noise

Post up some engine bay pics.  What type of turbo did you use and how thick of a washer did you use?

Nice Turbo!! Do you plan to make manifolds that could fit E36 cars?

Thanks, just making them for the E30, Neukin makes a bottom mount for the E36.

Can you fabricate the piping?  Might as well put a whole kit together!

I decided to just make the manifold for the DIY person, so many options for intercooler and turbo.

So I guess fitting an E36 is a no go then?

Sorry will not fit the E36.

they look fantastic, what is the coating on them?

pipe size ?

by the looks of them they are a t3 flange?

also are the machined flat after welding?

thanks sorry for all the questions

Thanks, it's a 1200 degree coating that is baked on.
The pipe size is 1"1/4 schedule 40 with a T3 flange, both flanges  are 1/2" thick.
They are made on a jig so no need for machining, the flange is straight.

No problem with the questions ask away, I am here to offer you guys a great manifold at a great price.

They look like nice pieces of kit.
How much are looking at selling them for?

Do you need to remove the coil pack to fit them and the turbo?

Cristian

They are $500 shipped within the USA and $580 shipped overseas. The coil packs will need to be relocated.

The fender does not need to be modified like it is in the pic.

I like this thread.  It is fun.

That looks like a nice piece, worth the price.
G&T, are you building an M42? or is this just a side project?
Whatever you are building now good luck, your m10 was my favorite e30.

Thanks, I am making just a few to fund my M30 turbo build. The M10 was my favorite also, I will build another.
