How much is the aerodynamics improved from seals like these?

 Honestly... Slightly... Very slightly.

It does clean up the turbulence in the air that slips off the sides of the hood (Difficult to explain)

At very high speeds it will reduce buffeting of the hood it's self (also difficult to explain)

Basically I would consider it cosmetic for a street driven car.

We have other stuff we will be reproducing in the works... Not available just yet.

Central to Zen teaching is the belief that awakening can be achieved by anyone but requires instruction in the proper forms of spiritual cultivation by a master. In modern times, Zen has been identified especially with the secular arts of medieval Japan (such as the tea ceremony, ink painting, and gardening) and with any spontaneous expression of artistic or spiritual vitality regardless of context. In popular usage, the modern non-Buddhist connotations of the word Zen have become so prominent that in many cases the term is used as a label for phenomena that lack any relationship to Zen or are even antithetical to its teachings and practices.

Evo/DTM Type Hood Seal Kits Seal Kits

These were NLA for a while and I sourced some kits from China... Big Ass mistake at any price.

These are the original spec material and once again USA made.

Evolution Zen  E30 HOOD SEALS are constructed in the USA from 100% High performance EPDM rubber. The seals fit between the hood and the fender. This seal completely covers / seals the space between the hood and the fender for better aerodynamics.

We have it made in small runs of specially formulated EDPM in order to suit the conditions IE heat, UV, oil resistance etc. the reason being was that the OE product would harden and cause hood closing issues and also the rubber would degenerate rapidly and the off the shelf products were just as bad.

Oh any why is it bolted to the steering rack?  I suppose that asking customers to use crush-nuts in the holes in the sub frame would have been asking a lot, but I am a little weary of the small lower rack tabs.

Other than that, it looks sharp!

In the beginning of the R&D process we (I) had a torturous decision to make.

In order to effectively attach the unit to the sub-frame any other way would require a highly skilled fabricator/welder to modify it.
This really wasn't an option for most end users. The "pop-in" blind nuts routinely fail so that wasn't the best choice either.

Because of my other concerns about attaching where we did I tested the first mock-up of this configuration on my rat car by jumping a dozen curbs and getting it crossed up airborne a few times then power slid it into a curb a couple more times just for drill before we built the first prototype.

I feel good about it. (well... as far as the braces function was concerned, I killed a set of good steelies and tires in the process)

I'm sure that if there is a demand for it in the future we could develop a bolt in addition to protect the pan.

The images are of the prototype, the one that's going into production looks well, downright sexy.

BMW e30 Lower X Brace a joint R&D project of Entwicklung Dreißig Zen and Mason Engineering.

We have just finished testing and have release these prototype images of the e30 lower X Brace (shown here on one of our test cars).  In testing we addressed and resolved some clearance issues (both ground and machine) and the balance of weight to strength concerns addressed.

The final unit is of a larger diameter tube (lighter weight yet just as strong in tension and compression) and have additional strategically placed gusseting and supports. The final product with specs will appear on our site soon and  possibly will go into production as soon as early May.

I don't have the images of the finished product to release yet I will post them here as soon as I do.

The price per unit will be approximately $300. Made here in the USA.

Down the road soon we will offer it in a full package set with the front and rear stress bars.

(if you think $300 is too much I would invite you to patent search, design, build, test and produce your own... You could farm production out to China and they'll make them out slagged tin cans for you really cheap...You'd be the king of eBay... And every body would love you.)

Ha, The Swiss.

E codes like E30 E36... I assume that you know the "e" stands for entwicklung.

English translation: Evolution or Development

Dreisseg I think we can agree on (even in Bavaria) is Thirty.

The Triple "s" (ß) is just cool I think it should make a comeback.

Now, my German is for shit (limited to technical language) however I can't really see how you missed the meaning.

Here it is in French: Développement Trente (better?)

Hmmmm.

These systems can have air in the top half of the radiator and stay that way indefinitely causing them to run hot. (only half of the radiator works).

Is the top frame of the radiator cool enough to touch?

This is what I'd do first bleed the cooling system...

Use this procedure:

1: Remove the AUX fan switch and fill until coolant mixture is running out there. Replace switch.

2: Remove bleed screw and continue to fill right to the top (running out of bleeder and at the top of the tank).

3: Start the engine rev to about 2500 with the cap off (there should be a stream of coolant squirting from the "radiator side" of the reservoir.

4:Spin on the cap while it is still at 2500.

5: Turn on the heater and rev the engine until you are sure that it is blowing hot air.

If this doesn't solve it you need to get a direct reading of the coolant (the reservoir isn't the spot)

The best way is with a handheld pyrometer aim it at the thermostat outlet side... this should be close to the engines operating temp.

If this doesn't get it let me know we'll get into other M42 cooling issues.
(there is more than a few)
