TC05-12A (Mitsubishi G63B)
Also from the early ‘80s is the TC05-12A turbocharger as used on the 2.0 litre G63B powered Mitsubishi Starion.

In standard form, the G63B turbo engine makes anywhere from 110kW to 125kW - depending on spec and market. We’d be comfortable using the TC06-12A for up to 150kW but, again, this turbo is only air-cooled so don’t expect tremendous durability.
The compressor inlet is 53mm diameter and the discharge nozzle is flared to around 54mm. The turbine passage is 46mm diameter and the 4 bolt mounting flange measures a 99 x 77mm. The dump pipe is a simple 3 bolter.

This might be a bolt-on for some Mitsubishi engines, but be aware that it another aging design.

that all depends on what starion you have. in the links you provided, it doesnt show starions in the US. my lttle brothers 86 starion has a water cooled td05-12a, they switched from the 11a in 85. the 12a spools very quickly. my little brothers spools to 7psi at around 2k rpms. and the US starions have a 2.6l g54b engine.

check the plugs. my car is doing the same thing, but it cuts out when driving. i was checking some things today with my dmm and found out that one of the wires to the tps came out of the terminal on the connecter inside the rubber boot. gonna fix it tomorrow and hopefully it fixes my problem.

you wont have any problems using the 92 engine. just a different harness and intake. the engine in mine is out of a 95 and its running perfect.

the ecu is behind the glovebox. four 10mm bolts to take it out of the car, and four torx screws to open it up. you also have to pry up the little tabs around the edges.

I should hold out for that...  It's only the front, though, right?

that is for front and rear. its also the setup i have and i love it. definately worth the extra effort in my opinion. i wish i woulda done it first instead of riding around on just springs & shocks. plus you can set the ride height however you want.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / HELP!!! Head Gasket Gone!!!
« on: September 13, 2008, 12:01:22 AM »
the charcoal canister gets carbon buildup if the car isnt drivin right or not maintained properly. the canister is also designed to hold excess fuel and burn it when it is needed. if the canister is full of carbon buildup then when it is supposed to use whats stored in the canister, it will act like a clogged vacuum line, causing a rough idle.

you have to get the bently for the 326. it sounds to me like the charcoal canister might be clogged. could happen from shitty gas, make sure you run at least mid grade in it.

if the shop says its not a head gasket, and its not the injector seal, then it is more than likely the charcoal canister, as that sounds like the only other thing you havnt checked, and it has the symtoms.

Engine + Driveline / Engine dead? What's wrong?

the second mechanic is right. if the engine is rebuilt right, its as good as a new engine.

the e30 has a two piece oil pan with the sump in the front. the e36 has a single piece oil pan with the sump in the rear.

i have a pro formance ebay chip. put down 128 whp on the dyno. worth the $50 imo.

and high flow cats dont really do much, if anything. if youre stock cat isnt clogged i wouldnt waste the money on a new one. just do a good mandrel bent catback with a good flowing muffler and you should be fine.

You have to change complete intake manifold, oil pan, oil pick up, complete wiring harness, and ECU.
Good luck!

if you are putting it into an e30 you keep the stock wiring harness & ecu. you only need to change the other mentioned stuff.

Euro 323i throw out bearing:   21517521471

US 325i throw out bearing:    21517521471

US 318is throw out bearing:    21517521471

so, unless realoem is wrong, you dont need to change the bearing, right?

just wanted to mention how much of an idiot i am, as about a month ago there was a 323i at pick n pull, and i didnt even think to pull the flywheel. just throwing that out there.

Engine + Driveline / difference between motors
« on: July 07, 2008, 12:30:29 PM »
there are only minor differences in the valvetrain. smaller valve stems is the only difference i think. and the intake manifold. use your old manifold and it all works perfect. my 91 has an engine from a 95 in it right now and it runs perfect.
