Trying to figure out if I have a big enough draw to kill batteries or if my alternator is on the way out. I pulled each fuse out one by one and kept checking the battery with a digital multimeter and had 3.42mA each time. This is the third walmart battery i've exchanged, enough is enough.

Awesome new ride and excellent pics. Thanks for sharing. How long does it take to get the car shipped over to your local dealer? I'm definitely going to have to do this at some point in my life.

They say no less than 6-weeks.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen, the cargo ship company BMW uses for east coast shipping shows my vin on their auto cargo bookings and shows a NY port arrival date of 10/17!

Of course, it still needs a day to a week processing at BMW PDC at the port, then a PDI at the dealer.

Then we headed over to Northern Italy

And to the famed Stelvio Pass

Encountered this guy coming up the Stelvio pass as we went down it, had to stop short and back up to let him pass me (not to mention fold my mirrors).

Dropping off the car for shipping at 1,366 mi (Germany, Austria, Italy and back to Germany).

After quite a long wait, I flew over to München, Germany to the new BMW Welt to pick up my Alpine White on Coral Red leather '08 135i.

Here are some pics...

Signing European temp registration documents.

Snuck a sneak peak of the car before actual delivery

Presentation of my new car as the delivery rep touches a button on his PDA, a spotlight comes on top of the car and a turntable spins the car slowly.

Then headed over the the BMW museum..

Collection of all BMW badges throughout the decades.

And the one badge that mattered to me!

Mine feels very loose as well... can anyone with a car that idles properly chime in as to whether that is normal?

Next time my car does it, i'll jump out and try to push/tighten the the brake vacuum host to the booster and see what happens.

^Mine has been flushed and bled with new good fluid... and still feels weak.  I thought it was my MC or something, but maybe it's the booster.

I noticed when fudging with hoses, i've accidentally tugged the vacuum line to brake booster and you hear the hiss but i've always pushed it back on, should it be so loose that we can just tug on it and it creates a massive leak?

Just a shot in the dark.

^I was wondering if the carbon canister could be causing any kind of problem.  It has to be something external to the engine.  I talked to the original owner of the motor I bought and he said it had no problems.  Then talked to the dealer I bought the car from and he said the old motor exhibited the same starting issues.  After 2 mins it ran fine.

So it has to be something external to the engine that didn't get swapped in.  IE:  brake booster vacuum (brakes feel a tad weak, but I'm coming from an e46), carbon canister, wiring harness, coils, or plug wires.  Any suggestions on where to start?

FWIW, my brakes feel very weak, but I've always attributed that to never getting around to flushing it with new good fluid.

This problem has plagued me for nearly 2 years now as well.

It seemed to have begun immediately after I cleaned out my ISV and AFM with TB cleaner and attempted a hot air intake install. I've attempted and done the following with no joy.

Tried a known good AFM
made sure fuel pump connections were tight
(fuel pump 3 years old)
replaced all the hoses below the intake manifold
fuel injection cleaner
replaced with known good FPR
went back to stock airbox

just wanted to add this in to this official thread - i've almost come to accept my old e30 likes make me look bad in front of a group of people as it always does this only in front of an audience, not when we're alone :D

Engine + Driveline / Clutch Slave Cylinder - creative wrenching?
« on: June 14, 2008, 12:32:19 PM »
Help guys! I'm so close to doing replacing it, its not even funny. I got the 2nd nut off w/o issue, its just that top most nut I cant seem to pivot my wrench once gripped.

I guess ill try again brute force with my 1/4 ratchet and socket.

No go with my ratchet/socket, open/closed 13mm wrench and a ratcheting close end wrench, just cant seem to grip.

Several threads cover bleeding but I cant get the top most nut off. I even bent the hard fluid line out of the way upwards, but theres no room to get the open end wrench in there to loosen it.

Everyone on here seems to have replaced there's without problems. What did you do to get to that top most nut.
