e30's do not have a DISA
unless someones fitted an m44 intake, but that is very unlikely

now you've lowered it be careful as the oil sump is the lowest point on the car
as with any bmw the radiators can leak.
you will do rear wheel bearings if you have the car for any real period of time
be aware they rust around the sunroof, boot seal, bottom of the A pillar, and the bit were the battery sits in the boot.

there isn't anything else really they suffer from to much, they are the most reliable car bmw has made yet

also dont get it hot ever...

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / info on performance parts
« on: September 28, 2012, 06:37:01 AM »
oh hello there.

I haven't been on here in years, but i now own an is!! an e30 no less!

anyways I've been doing some research into performance mods for it as i want to get some real power out of it.

i would like to make a high revving n/a rather than turbo or supercharging.

from what i can find vac Motorsports or metric mechanic are the best for this, and i really like the engines they build. i am a bmw mechanic so nothing on the m42 is to hard for me to work with, compared to those bastard n42's :) but i haven't ever dealt in hi end performance parts before neither have i built up an engine.

also im in Australia so i cant really send my motor to mm, id have to buy the bits and do it my self, so i was hoping for a few pointers

is there anything i should be weary of buying you beauty parts?
whos the best to get them off? vac, mm, or other?
are there any things i should know about getting them to aus?
has anyone in aus done this before? (i assume someone has)

that's all i can think of for now but any thing you think i missed id love to have your input!
