rev goes up and down

hi im new here this is my first post i found this forum in dispritation to cure the disease in my 318i k reg.
when switched on the rev goes up and down sometimes rhythmaticly othertimes just randomly it even decides to switch itself off on some occaisions anyone got an idea please help.

Sounds like the infamous vaccum issue. Check all intake hoses starting from the intake bellow (boot from AFM to Throttle body) and all the associated hoses beneath the intake manifold as well. Cleaning your AFM & TB can also help as well.

From experience it sounds like it might be a TPS (throttle position sensor) item #2
