When you are actually working in an app such as Photoshop or Office there is really not much difference. It's a new sytem interface to learn and anything you have to buy from Apple costs more.
Also you'll get a hot left hand.
You might rethink if you use a lot of software that is Windows specific such as AutoCad, OBDI and II interfaces, programmimg languages, etc. It is a real cool statusy e-mail and websurfer.
If you need Office Apps and/or CSII for free you will have to make new friends.

nice. ive always used Macs. dual monitor'd, spec'd up eMac for work+play, and a titanium PowerBook for work.

The MacBooks seem pretty damn cool tho.

Macs are easy as pie once you learn the general stuff.

May want to take a look at my posts in the other thread about Windows performance before you do.

I've used macs since the first version of OSX. You won't regret it. I use a PC at work and hate it. Its true, though, that most apps are about the same, so that's nice really because you don't have to relearn stuff. It just takes awhile to get used to using the Apple key instead of the Ctrl key for shortcuts.

If you haven't ordered yet, I would consider getting the black because of the stain issues, but maybe they have fixed that by now. Yeah, they do get hot but that is the price to be paid for its slim profile. Just don't leave it plugged in while its on your lap.

I wouldn't worry about apps not being intel native, because they will all be universal soon, and the next Adobe sweet will definitely be universal and prolly out this fall.

If you have questions, just shoot any of us mac users an email or post something.

thanks. yeah i just wanted to get a discussion going. i really like a lot of the mac programs liek iTunes and the like, whihc i have had for years on PC. Im getting office from a friend and probably going to run the PC OS as well as Mac OS. I had to get white, the black one cost 200 more for a 90 dollar upgrad that i put on my white one....
