I cut this out of a magazine over 7 years ago when I was in high school working at a ski shop/outfitter. I though it looked like the raddest place on earth. Well, going through some of my old stuff I found it. Lo and behold, I STILL think it is the raddest looking place on earth!

It was from an advertisement for Jack Wolfskin gear, and had no mention of the location. So, anyone here have an idea of where this is! Hell, anyone here wanna save up some $ and go backpacking/climbing there (or anywhere equally picturesque)?!?! I had a shoulder overuse injury about a year ago that is likely gonna prevent me from ever doing any really hard climbing ever again, but I am totally down to backpack and do some more mild climbing!

Anyway, here's the pic, help me out!

At a random guess, I'd say a fjord in norway. Rock structure dosnt seem to match perfectly, but you'd get some very simular outlooks in that part of the world...

Thailand eh? I'd believe it. Hmmm, now I just need to save up soem $ and go right after I finish my internship & last semester of college. 5 years of engineering, I think a little break is in order. Good thing I have a 6-month grace period before I am required to make school-loan payments after graduation!

Yeah I could see it being some old flooded volcanic crater. I will have to post on the RockClimbing.com forum & ask I suppose.

yeah, it is thailand. it actually looks like the same island that was used to film one of the James Bond movies (Man with the Golden Gun, i think). my brother went there and sent pics back, and it looks like the same place to me.

ahh, yes, Phuket....
I was there back in 2000. Our ship pulled in for 2 weeks. Beutiful country. Amazing what all you can get for $20 (Awesome Thai dinner, six pack of Singha, and some .... :D ).

I loved Thailand.

I'm married now, so I probably won't be going back.... :(
