Spotted it walking back to my office from a lunch-time workout. Very pretty. Whoever owns it has some $. It was parked next to other cars...shame shame.

Hope he doesn't learn not to hang the nose over curbs like I did - in a 318is though. Low profile tires and powder coated calipers too. I guess you have to give it to the Japanese for making brakes a styling element. The shame - door dings from crappy SUV's and ricer econoboxes. That poor BMW, having to park next to "other" cars and that poor man having to work with "other" people!
There used to be a Maserati sedan where I work and the guy parked it in the farthest corner of the lot diagonally across two spaces. One day the trash truck dropped a dumpster on it and snashed the roof down on top of the seats. The owner was really happy because the maintanence was hell. Two weeks later he had a 750il.

After seeing the M5 at the auto show, I have to say, I was unimpressed. On paper it is great. Lots of power, lots of features, hell it even looks good inside (outside is a matter of taste, not totally into it).

When you sit in it, it does not feel like a drivers car. It was like BMW made a list of what they wanted in the car, and one person was handed each one, and told to put it in the car. The seating possition was bad, controls were not where they should be, and more. It seemed like they just slapped everything in there regardles of possitioning. It did not seem easy to get in or out of either.

Then there is the fact that a 300hp Porsche can tear it apart on an average road. 500hp is impressive until you realize that you cannot put the power down. And yes, I realize the Porsche costs more, it still does more with far less.

It is not a bad car, but if I had the money, I sure as hell would not buy it.

I work in San Jose, about 1/2 mile from the Milpitas border.
