E46 Dashboard Removal - help?

Haven't moved to the dark side - this is my wagon daily driver.

Need to replace the dashboard. I've done a fair few E30's.

Need to hear from anyone who's actually done this?

Thanks - but this is nothing to do with removing the dashboard, only the decorative trim strips.
