As you all know the dreaded ebrake on your e30 fails and then requires a major overhaul to make them serviceable. I wonder how many e30's have no ebrake at all?:(
You can see the rusted holes that hold the spring retainer are oversize.

I wanted to repair mine so I ordered new Bowden cables, new shoes, new discs and new backing plates.
I decided to take a new tact and cut the backing plates in half instead of destroying the rear bearings @ ~$70.00ea.

Welded back together. I used the same bracket that holds the brakeline to the backing plate and welded it to the backing plate because changing the brakelines wasn't in the maintenance plan.

Painted and ready for assembly. :)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/dark_islight/Picture004.jpg
I now have a safer car.
