I have two that need to be replaced. I've got the new ones, and have the old ones removed from the wheel side, but I'll be damned if I can get them out of the side connecting to the body.
Any tips?

Yep, it's a pain. The upper end basically corrodes in place. Spray it with PB Blaster, let it soak a long time, and pull like you're trying to pull the car down on top of you - it should break free. Make sure the cable is disconnected at the e-brake handle, of course.
Liberally goop your new cables with antisieze at the end where it goes in to that tube, that will help if you should ever have to do it again.

We'll spray it some more. Already been pulling on it a lot. Also cut one side so I could spray it inside, now I'm grabbing what is left with vise grips.
Here is a pic of what is left on one side, arrow shows where I think it should come apart

And of the same end of a good cable.

Ouch, that looks bad. Can you get some spray in from the inside of the car? I think it separates about an inch further in, hard to tell.

YES! But time and money are tight, so I'm just replacing the subframe bushings, control arm bushings and brake hoses. :(
