Rocker Cover Gasket Installation Help

Rite guys can anyone help me here?

I have taken of my rocker cover to give it a good clean and also soon after I had it polished. Its come out looking very nice and shiny.

Rite now I have brought a new rocker cover gasket and now am at the stage of putting it all back together rite before I do I was just wondering is there any special sealant that I put on and around the rocker cover gasket whilst installing the gasket???

No sealant is needed, but a very small amount of black rtv never hurt.

appreciat that tim is it a big problem if i dont put that on i mean i dont have it and ive just waited to long just to get her on and all i need to do is tighten the bolts lol ive not started her in over a year so im just wanting to start her up lol

put some sealant around the half moons at the rear.

This area is the most crucial. "Technically" it shouldn't need any sealant, but it is an important area and it should be done here to prevent any potential problems. A tube of black rtv is inexpensive, like 3 dollars and available at any auto parts store. After you get the rtv it will take you two extra minutes to do the job. Why do the job twice because of a small leak that could have easily been prevented.

I am not an m42 expert,thats for sure, but some things are universal and sealing up odd shapes on gaskets is a must do in my book.
