RE: Can you remove exhaust manifold without unbolting exhaust

Hi,
i'm gearing up to change the head gasket but i just wanted to know if you can remove the exhaust manifold from the head without having to get under the car to unbolt the exhaust.

im doing the job on my drive and i dont really have the means to get underneath the car!!

Hi there, I´m pretty sure you can´t do it from the top, you need to get under the car,there´s a few bolt not easy to reach from the top you can use the car´s jack,but always put something underneath the car to avoid it from falling into you!!
You don´t have to unbolt the rest of the exhaust. it´s a 30-45 minute job.

do not use the car's jack - very dodgey and unsafe. Go out and buy a proper jack and jack stands
