Yeah, all of the info you need is over at r3v, but I recommend you simply find a semi-nice person over there, with knowledge, and PM them your SPECIFIC questions. Not that they are total dicks over there, but they have quite a lot of info regarding the swap that involves reading a 60+ page thread, so searching is the way to go. As much as I love the M42, when it dies, it won't be replaced with another, M50 it is.
