(Continually EDITED, scroll to bottom for updates and more PICTURES..)

I now drive a 1991 318is. The car is Alpineweiss (resprayed, and poorly, too.)
150k miles and a fairly dirty engine bay, along with a lot of minor paint defects throughout the body. Also, some rust from when the rear quarter panel was replaced with a rusty one....smart. Anyways i paid 1,800 and think although more than BlueBook, still a good deal as the owner had just replaced brakes, a cat, plugs, engine/tranny/diff oil, etc.. However, no radio or AC.

I'm looking forward to owning this bimmer for a long time!

My plans as of now are upgraded suspension and brakes, as well as blacking the kidneys and other minor repairs, such as the sunroof handle and removing teh defunct AC system.

More about me...Two of my brothers drive BMW's, a modified 1990 325is and a soon-to-be modifed 1971 2002, and my sister stole the family's e36 328i for college.. The car i also drive is a Stage 2+ Subaru WRX, around 300hp/tq. It's very fast but it doesnt have a roundel...oh and a nissan Xterra is also a family car.
i enjoy rallying old beater cars and soccer.
cheers!

Good stuff. I like soobies and JDM cars a lot as well. I really like the old stuff that we never got here though. Like the 22b and the older bodied sti(looks like our pre 2001, 2.5rs) and then of course the old Mitsubishi evo's IV,V,VI. Someday, I'll own a Skyline;) Here's a couple car pics from my last trip to Japan:

yeah, i wish i could walk to the store and see an old R32 with some bronze volks and the like.... i dont like newer skylines, i like rwd and old-schoo, none of the uber heavy stuff. my subie weighs in around 3100 lbs, but has the legs to move.

....with that said, JDM cars still have no roundel! :D :D

i need to figure out what to do with the front end. soon the smoked signals will be in and i need to decide what to do about the missing fogs and teh missing center strip...

Get blanks for the fogs. Hard to find at the yard though, but I think they are even cheap from the stealer!

You can find cracked fogs at the yards for cheap all the time though, and you can get new plastic replacement lenses for them relatively cheaply (as long as the light isn't rotted out like mine).

Car is lookin' GREAT though!!!

I notice in the pic you need a new AC panel surround in the dash... Yours is cracked... I have one off my parts car I just pulled last week if you need it. You should paint your rocker panel and lower rear bumper black again though... I will do a write up soon as I'm going to repaint mine with POR-15 black rust proof paint.

as for the cracked surround, i just put in a new one from a 325is parts car. now to re-configure the vent controls....

as for painting the underpanels black, i dont see why....i kinda like it all being the same color, but that isnt stock is it?

///Motorsport

painted the BBSs that came with the car BLACK. this way i got rid of the nasty chrome lip and have a set of clean stockers as well as a black set with econo tires for when i get my LSD on... (dorifto time)

also got some MHW smoked signals up front... the transformation continues...

... the fogs. One is a little ok, (frosted) the other is good. Buy me 2 M42Club stickers, pay for shipping and they are yours.

Also have a broken clip center strip if you want. You could wedge it in.

hmmm maybe... i have a parts car and i think he might have some. how hard will it be to wire these up? im looking for an alternative, maybe some sort of brake ducting? i'm missing all of the inner fender pieces under there...you can stare through the fog holes and see tires...

Wiring is something for the other board members to answer. If nothing else, fill the holes with the fogs. The parts car? Wheel well pieces?

Also, I just painted the area behind the grill, black. Really gives depth. My kidney is black like yours and all of it blends nicely!

SSK also in, knob isn't gray like that but you get the point. Its the 1.9 kit from Patrick at BMA.

Radio in as well (and as of today, the CODE is in too!) and fits perfect from an '88 ///M5. (a buddy of mine, also on b.f.c., gave it to me, his dad owned the 1 m5 that Southern Oregon dealership recieved...)

Lastly, the Remus Ti with custom straight pipes. Getting a cat and maybe resonator in this week or so, might flange it in and have an additional piece made so i can swap it in for a side-exit for no reason, fun on weekends and track days, who knows... I like screaming cars.

oh yeah and my fogs are since in, but not connected yet.

So from these pics I realize (once again) I need new leather for my shift boot, (dont even think its oem in there now for some reason), that missing piece on my front air dam area, and a bunch of other random bits of plastic in and outside the car. Until next update, let me know what you think about the wheels!

Nice car man. I like it a lot, what kind of shift knob is that?

looks like the stock //M shift knob. I have the same one, a little pricey but they look the best. Nice car, solid transformation thus far.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, the knob is awesome.
I was in the I was in the showroom today and the same knob (albeit 6spd pattern) was on the M roadster....(and it was a beautiful blue roadster)
I put one in our family 328i as well, but With M logo, no shift pattern. My brother has the one with the ///stripes corner, but its really faded. I think that's my favorite one for an e30... YOu can get these at bavauto, bmp, etc..

I was soooooo happy to finally get my radio working. BMW had the hardest time tracking down the code b/c it was from an M or something... no idea why its just serial numbers and punching keys right?

I want tint and an LSD stat.

Anatomic shift knob :). I have the same one but with the plain 5 shift pattern :(.
