what is the piston to valve clearence on a standard m42 engine

hi i want to order some new camshafts , but the guy who is making them needs to know

what is the piston to valve clearence on a standard m42 engine

IE . . . At tdc how far can you push the valves down before piston contact .

this is to find out what the wildest cam i can put in a standard engine if this helps ? has any one done it what the figures they put in lift etc thanks
