my car is at 2415lbs!!
No sunroof, P/S delete, A/C delete, fan delete (saves a few lbs), gutted front bumper, swiss cheesed front valance, knee bar under dash removed, air bag wheel removed in favor of a sparco wheel, light wheels, etc.
I also pulled the whole interior out and removed all sound deadening and tar from everywhere. Then I reinstalled the door panels, stock seats, and carpet.
I think I can get down to 2350 with the other mods I have planned. next up are Momo fiberglass shells and battery relocation
The car was weighed in auto-x trim. Everything loose removed and 1/4 tank of gas.

do you know how much each thing saved you?
I'm mainly interested in the gutted front bumper, and takeing those sound deadening things out of the interior. Where was the tar?

Wow, that's pretty dang light!!
So, my car is relatively stock sans a few lightweight suspension components. When it's all back together I'm going to put it on the scales and see what it weighs. I've always heard these cars are just over 2600 lbs in stock form.

The front bumper core was ~10lbs I didnt weigh anything so these are just estimates.
There was a surprising amount of insulation under the carpet. Tar under the seats front and rear.

from memory, my old iS was 2425lbs.
(euro model, don't know if there is much diff - manual sunroof & windows, P/S, A/C). semi-stripped, recaros, 14in weaves, 1/4tank.
id like to weight the current one in a bit.
I want to get my car around that weight.
I weighed my car just last week and the scales read 2560lbs with a: full tank, full glove box, spare tire, jack and lug wrench, minor tools and no sunroof. everthing else is stock and in place

Glass is really heavy. Have you considered replacing rear windows with lexan or something?

no, it's my daily driver. I am keeping the full interior and glass.
