Looking for a good running, non-smoking M42, preferably out of an E30. For doing an M42 swap into my E21. Computer being included would be ideal, but it's not a must. Located in Michigan. PM if you can help.

First picture is with a Ground Control coilover setup with bilstein sports and the 2nd picture is the stock setup. I think most of the lean in the first picture comes from the old tires with huge sidewalls, but that should all be changing here soon :-). On BF.C another guy and myself are known as Kings of Lean :p
I saw the guy who had posted about his engine from Mass. but he's parting it out now...Oh well, i'll wait and see. Thanks guys.

S14 was my first choice...then i couldnt find one...then i saw i could get a metric mechanic rebuilt M42 for roughly the same price! So im going with an M42 for right now and depending how it works i might turbo or do a stroker/rebuild.

I'm currently putting a 1995 318ti M42 in my 1991 318is. I'll be reusing the intake, electronics, and oil pan. I will have the corresponding parts from the E36 M42. It blew a head gasket but I haven't had the head checked and the cam gears and chain are worn out. It does have a forged crank, good bottom end, and all of the timing chain housings and covers. You would need to do something about the head. It will also have the single belt pulleys and engine wiring harness - I'm re-using all of the v-belt stuff from the 1991 to keep it simple. It would also need throttle, cam, and crankshaft sensors. The M42 will be out tomorrow.
I'll let it go cheap and can get it shipped at low cost.(Approx $150 total). Send me a PM if interested.

Thanks for the reply man, but it might be more work than I can put into it right now...I'm looking for something i can pretty much plug and play. I'll keep you posted though if I change my mind.
