I want snow...

I would highly suggest picking up some photography books, it is very rewarding learning to take better pictures.

I am not saying your picture is bad, but could definitely use work, also hang out on some photography sites and have them critique your pictures.

The more you take the better you will get as long as you analyze your work and think about what you are doing.

oh yes snow and rwd goes so well together!
this was one of the first pictures i took with this camera. i find it attractive in some ways although it doesnt respect much basic rules of photography. not pretending i'm a pro photographer anyways so i will gradually learn more
thanks for your comment!

seeing you climb the streets backwards must be funny. yet i havent had any problems with traction. only fun. then again i dont have the mountains that you have..

are you putting the drivetrain on your project car? i heard it was heavy and fragile? if i were you i think i'd rather keep the 318is lightweight and rust free and find an old winter beater 325ix or something.

est ce que tu parles francais?

swiss318is

cool picture!must be nice canada...

hoevesruperd
02-08-2008, 02:42 PM
the drawing is just cause i was wondering why the shark nose disappeared from bmw's design, it was such a significant emblem.. i guess it just doesn't follow modern lines + bumper regulations probably destroyed the esthetic

good luck with the company, if ever you need help oversea let me know

university is really boring, seems like its always the same teacher saying the same thing. after 3 years you get this diploma that only says you wasted precious time. which is why companies like that, they know you will be able to waste more time doing 9 to 5, being a whore to capitalism and feed the upper class. man i'd rather play music, race cars or build cool stuff.

canada is nice.. well british columbia is nice. montreal is nice... during the summer. winter is far from beautiful in this city. i do not relate to the city anymore, so many cultures but my own

yeah for sure i'd like to touch your car hahaha
if i'm still bored in class i'll draw some 80's style race bodies

i laughed that one for quite a while!! now i know why subaru is so popular in rallies!!

i lived in whistler BC and used to mountain bike everyday all summer long! you'd love it out there, mountains just like in Switzerland (45minutes rides down) and a crazy bike park! maybe i can find some pictures

i used to ride a single speed hardtail and follow big guys with expensive double suspension bikes. i guess its like driving an M42 when everyone wants the S52

do you ride downhill as well?

swiss318is
02-19-2008, 03:43 AM
I have a "small" hill 10min away with a damn fast dh track!10min long and a train to go uphill.i have a gt dh bike, quite funny to ride!the hardtail is for streetracing in town.

02-19-2008, 04:21 PM
I have riden some Downhills bike but real pleasure comes with a single speed hardtail,
I now ride only dirt and bmx track and I ordered my last bike: an eastern traildigger 26 inches...

hoevesruperd
02-19-2008, 05:58 PM
i agree, single speed is just pure fun, it feels like you give direct power to the wheel. no mess and easy to tune.

i used to run it downhill as well.. pretty rough on the body

hoevesruperd
02-29-2008, 10:46 AM
thats one nice university, at least, the building looks mint! VERY interesting hein... a little sarcasm? hahaha i feel the same

we have brown walls with no decoration, just plain drywall and concrete in the basement of a 40 years old building that was built to last 10! i wont post too many pictures or you'd get depressed!

you're right about bikes being a good weight reduction technique, makes a world of difference when the passenger is heavy! i have a friend thats built and probably weights three times as much as me... i can't even show him how fast my car goes.. at least my girlfriend is only 90lb!

i had to say: man i love my car!!! had to drive my moms brand new subaru outback yesterday and i have to say: bmw is the ultimate driving machine. although the subaru has more torque and is making fun of snow banks, it just dosen't feel like you're involved in driving. (well, i cant complain, at -20Celsius with no heater in the e30 it would have been a long ride to my friends show!)

i ll keep you posted with more pictures

cocaine dealer ! ahahahaha i wish
yesterday, we had a 40cm snowstorm and the city was too lazy to start any work in the streets plus there were heavy winds (i couldnt even open the door because the wind was too strong)

i wanted to go see my girlfriend anyways... bad idea
i got stock so bad...everywhere.. with my scrap summer tires! we were basically many strangers in the streets pushing each others cars

i finally done about 5km in the snow, drifting most of the time and using the cluth reverse/2nd gear technique to keep traction..

next winter i'm either buying a horse and a slay, a snowmobile or a IX

the snow in the car is basically only from opening the doors too often with the heavy wind

Well I'll need one of those super electric turbine chargers off ebay for it since its an all electric motor! But I am learning now how to over ride the safety speeds so I can go fast while fully extended lol. Its not working out to well.

Umm as for the new 318is. I have my eye on a BEAUTIFUL Brilliantrot/Black one that sits in this couples driveway. I'm gonna go make an offer on Monday so I MIGHT just have me a new flawless 318is then....keep your fingers crossed they sell.

The sad thing is, is now I won't be able to go make an offer on that 318is tomorrow because most of my money will be going to welfare recipients who should just give up on life or be more productive for the society.

OH! I also test drove a 96' hellrot red with black interior 318is today for a friend. It was pretty nice, had 100k on the clock and still pulled pretty well. Very smooth idle. It was nice getting to drive a bimmer again.

thats a real bummer! you could always decide not to pay and go live in south america and change country every year but i guess for 1600 its not worth the trouble!

i could consider myself short of money as well (not balancing my projects and my band account)
i see two solutions
-win the lottery
-take a government student loan (which you dont pay interest until you're done school) and invest it and hope to make big bucks.. lets say the worst i'd do in a year is 4%. the loan is 10 000 and i finish school in 2 years... thats at least 816$... ok i better win the lottery
-the more reasonable solution would be for me to work as a painter this summer, charging 20$ an hour, still thats not living the dream isnt it

Alex find me the cheapest way to montreal....I'm fealing some hot french girls haha.
and as for music, I just bought my friend a mogwai cd the other day. But I listen to more modest mouse, at the drive in, boards of canada, brand new, and other stuff.

Yea I swear simpsons references more to being located in missouri than any other state. I mean heck they drive to branson in one episode which is like 45 minutes from here.

I talked to the people with the 318is btw. I guess the husband bought it for his wife on their 20th anniversary. They are going to talk about selling it and give me a call...

the 318is you're talking about is probably in super mint condition if thats its real story. not like me e30 that's more like a whore and got touch by all sorts of guys

i also like modest mouse and at the drive-in.. plus i have 3go of boards of canada music! perhaps you could tell me more bands i'd like to hear..

since you like modest mouse, check the montreal band named Wolf Parade
Tokyo Police Club is a pretty good canadian band too. i'll see them live on friday

by the way, you might be going the wrong way, i believe if you want the cheapest way to montreal, new mexico is kind of like a little detour.. hehe

Haha yea I was on mi blackberry mi boi. But yea now I'm almost in arizona. All I'm doin is browsing forums.

Yea it is in amazing condition!!! Still has the factory IS lip and amazingly clean black interior. I hope they sell it to me. I really do. If I don't get a call in a month or so I'm going back to talk to them. Maybe flash em some benjamins. Hah

Well hmm more bands...maybe the faint? Or fischerspooner? That music always makes me happy. I need some more boards of canada. I'm guessing you've heard of sigur ros? Ugly casanova is awesome! But that falls into liking modest mouse. Of montreal is a band I haven't listened to in a lonnnng time. Are they from montreal? eh?

Haha noo I'm on a work trip. Going out to california for a long while.

At least you have plans to go out there and see her. How long have you guys been dating?

Yea I've heard a lot of those bands you listed off. Sounds like we share a lot of the same tastes in music.

Do you guys know of metric mechanics?

hoevesruperd
04-18-2008, 10:43 PM
metric mechanics are my gods! i only wish i was rich enough to find them cheap enough to transplant them engines in everycar i see! i would have at least an 2002tii, one e21 and a e30

i think i watched their m42 video over a 1000 times!

ma girl bought me new glasses today hehe (we've been dating for 3 months, but i can't wait to be with her in australia, i'm sure eveything is going to be alright, and please remind me if i forget! she's going to miss me just enough and when i'll meet with her we'll spend a very nice month in australia together)
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd79/hoevesruperd/Photo6.jpg

that "ski area boundary" used to be in my e30 in the rear window. its a little souvenir from Whistler BC
i just virtually expanded the ski-able territory towards my bedroom

That's awesome man. Yea I was just wondering because their shop is only like 70 miles north of where I live. In fact one of my old friends used to go up there all the time. I've yet to go up there but my brother and all my friends have been. I wonder if Courtney (one of the guys that works there) is on these boards?? He seems pretty cool. Briefly met him once.

But yea I frequent their site a lot just wishing I had a car and the funds to use their m42's.

Swwwweeeet shades! I got a rockin pair of aviators my ex bought me. No pics though sorry.

Yea your lucky that you get to go to australia. I've yet to go but I hear its amazing.

Shout out to anyone in cali!!!! Ill be here all year. Show me your damn sexy 318's. Lol.

Well I'm going to be just about everywhere in Cali throughout the year. Right now I'm up around Sacramento and San Francisco (northern) but as we progress we'll keep moving more south. I'd be more than down to hang out if I'm around that area when you come. I should be in socal for the majority of the year. Dude we could rent some mopeds haha. Hopefully you'll have a couple of hours layover.

Swiss....I need to come to switzerland and hit up a scenic drive!!!

So I'm in love with cali! Bimmer heaven! Soooo many cleanly modded bmw's driving around. Heck one of the first cars I saw in this town was an e46 m3 with the CSL trunk and huge dished wheels. And I've been seein tons of e30's. No 318's though :(

on my way to school i pass by a porsche dealer. so i see mostly cayennes and boxters/cayman but sometimes GT3s and Turbos or Targas.

on the way back from school, i see a prestige dealer with masseratis, old porsches, limited edition ferraris, cobras and other very expensive cars.. i've seen some E30 m3s too but today there was a very simple e28!! just like the one i had.. felt good to see my old car next to some ferraris!!

I forgot you guys purchase it by the liter. What is it 4L to 1G?? I know 5L of heinekin is 1.33 gallons haha.

I work. I work my ass off sadly. I'm going to college in January of 09 but for now I work for my dad as a contractor. I'm a commercial lighting electrician. I specialize in HID fixtures, VHO fixtures, etc. Me and my older brother have an apartment together.

Why do you ask?

Its fun being out here in california but being here means I have no time to work on my e30 or buy another one and work on it :(

By the way anyone want a perfectly running M42 with tranny?? 130k miles on both. Either I sell it or put on a stand to start building a race motor. I also have some nice tan interior. Uncracked dash too lol.

if it doesn't want to move after a COP conversion and an engine bay checkup and clean-up she might go into coma for a while.

i'm going to store it until i have the cash to restore the whole thing

bmw is way too expensive for me. i am almost considering the saab or volvo route
keeping the bmw as a long term project

Hey guys, I'm tuning back in finally. Been terribly busy as of lately.

Its funny swiss that your friend just bought and 850i my best friends dad just got his silver 850's headliner and interior cleaned and redone. Ill take pictures when I get home in a few months.

Its also funny you guys are talking about volvos and how alex is thinking about buying one because that same best friend with the 850...well his dad just bought a volvo instead of a 5 series!!!

But Alex just find another e30 for a dd. I'm still on the hunt to find a clean 318is unmolested with black interior for sale...

I've decided I REALLY want a "Year One of the 1" 1 series....

Hey you guys should check out my videos on my youtube. I have some funny footage of my buddy playing on ice in his a4. Search member: Sheldonjace....or search audi a4 on ice.

sheldon, i'll keep the idea of the volvo as a DD. 2000$ for a 10 years old volvo with a complete known history is nothing and i know it can last another 200 000km!

i just came back from my girlfriends house for the last time in a long time. she's leaving for australia in 8 hours.

Alex sounds like where my parents live. They don't have a farm but they live WAYYY out in the country and have dial up internet because you can't get broadband out there. Its quite the drive from where I live. I used to have to go out there to work on my car too which was always fun when you couldn't figure out the problem and needed some forum help. I actually went out to my parents before I came to cali and my bmw started up flawlessly with a jump!!! It even drove haha....but it was making all sorts of clunks from the suspension.

Don't get a vovlo! Get a BMW. You won't get the same driving pleasure out of a volvo as you will a bimmer. And if you need engine parts my 318 is doing nothing but sitting and it runs like a champ...so if you want something off it just pay for shipping and its yours.

And swiss that's an awesome place to take pictures!!! Damn.

hoevesruperd

sheldon, if you're parting your car you can make a few bucks thats for sure.
for myself i'm thinking, mirror, fan blower, wiper linkage, rear passenger light at least
but honnestly, get another 318is and keep it for a parts car!! if you have a place at your parents house anyways!! dont hurry and part it out

i know volvos aren't as fun to drive and you feel waaaay to secure in them cars!! al sorts of safety features makes it boring. for example, there is play in the gas pedal, before it acutally moves the TB to make sure you wont get surprised stomping on it accidentaly..

but.. as a DD i couldn't really ask for better. its so reliable and would make a good roadtripper. and its the best with our cold winters. heated seats, mirrors.. well, heated everything. plus... its a wagon.. the backseats folds down and makes a bed.. maybe a volvo wont bring me as much driving pleasures but will certainly bring me other pleasures! haha

here it is!

Yea haledj it never really bothered me either till someone asked me if I wanted to go on a scenic roadtrip into arkansas....well we couldn't find any gas stations that sold 93 along the way...just 91. So I had to leave my car at home and ride with a friend :( ill probably buy both a 91 and 93 chip when I need to.

Alex I'm not really worried about making money of it. Just helping out fellow enthusiast and getting rid of it is good enough for me.

canada is actually a fake country. we do not exist. its just a magic secret place where santa's hiding

bullet proof bmw?! she's on her death bed is what i'm saying... the engine sounds more like a tractor than a sports car and its rather brilliant-rust than brilliantrot!!!

by the way, google map is where i live when my classes are boring and there is nothing new on here or msn. look at Iceland with the satellite view and see how well designed their cities are!! i'm such a bored geek sometimes.

well... we've all been busy i think.. summer is finally here. it smells like bbq!
i rarely come to M42club anymore.. well not as often as when i was in class with a laptop.

my 318 is becoming a beater more than a classic car... until i get the chance to strip it all and restore it from the bones (slowly over 2-3 years) she's going to have not much attention... i was pretty disappointed when i saw those pointy timing gears.. (she might get a transplant in the 24valves category...) thumbs up for student loans hahaha (just kidding)

been investing in photography and traveling a little more than on car parts
buying lenses of ebay for my nikon when drunk can be somehow interesting and the results left in the mailbox can be surprising!

in 34 days i'll leave for fiji and australia

So guys. Ive decided to start flight training as soon as possible.

I've already looked into everything. Costs, where to start, how long it will take to get my PPL, and everything. Its something I've wanted more than anything in my life and as soon as I return home hopefully I can start!

Anyone on here a Pilot? Or have their PPL???

AND fly around with an aeroplane! but i didnt forget the flying thing and in the near future i hope to be back in the sky again!!!

Thats awesome! That plane is beautiful btw. I was thinking about training in a Piper. I just don't know which yet. Piper Warriors are rather cheap to train in here so probably that.

How hard was landing really? Thats probably my biggest worry is learning to land haha.

Haha... After the first few times landing it's pretty easy! For a traning plane, a Cessna 150 is also a pretty good (and fairly cheep) airplane to come by. I learned in a 1979 Varga Kachina, that airplane was a lot of fun!
