Cross-posted on r3v.

Got the 793s for the late 535 after 1/1987. Issue is that the offset seems (?) to be different than the M42 mounts. I'm probably just having a moron moment, but I can't seem to orient them properly so that the motor just seats itself nicely rather than jamming up about an inch before hitting the rubber. The mounts are labeled 793, but are black instead of the green I expected. Comparing it to the picture, it looks exactly the same except for color.

As far as I can tell, I have the mount turned properly so that the offset matches how the M42 mount came out. And I cut off the locating tabs on the 793s as per instructions I saw in a diy thread here.

Any tips? If I can't make 'em work, I'll probably go IE instead, but I don't wanna spend twice for one job.

I just replaced them, and they are black now instead of green. They are both eccentric, and you may have to rotate one (or both) 180 degrees to get them aligned properly. Everything WILL fit perfectly, you just need to get them spun around correctly. On the passenger side, the alignment tab thingy needs to go inside (where there is no alignment tab hole). The tab is "backwards" relative to the M42 mounts' tab. If you install it with the tab facing down, you have to chop it off. The other side...I do not really remember lol.
