My latest '91 318is project car came with an overheated M42. The head was cracked and the HG blown. The motor had just under 200k, however the timing components look really good, so they are probably newer. Pictures available upon request... I am still cleaning things. Buyers can pick up, or pay to ship from Tacoma, WA - ZIP 98444.

**ALL prices are OBO...You could ALMOST say that prices listed are not even real!!!**

1) Bottom end - Block, pistons, rods, crankshaft, main seals. All still assembled. Block will probably need to be bored and decked, but otherwise has no other known issues. Pistons are the original 83.98MM, so plenty of room to go bigger. I can separate the block, but I'd like to keep the internals a package deal. $80 complete, or $50 for internals. **See note below**

2) Complete head (valves, lifters, cams, etc.) - Cracked fairly deep between one of the #2 cyl. exhaust valve seats and the water jacket. Will sell all together or parted out. $50 Complete, or $30 for cams. **See note below**

3) Full Timing Case - This includes the Lower Chain Case, as well as the Lower and Upper Chain Case covers. All are in great shape and will be cleaned before shipment / pickup. The Lower Chain Case still has the oil pump in it. It was making pressure before I tore it down, but due to age, and heat, I would not reuse it. I'd like to keep these case components together, but will separate if the price is right. $75 for all 4. **See note below**

4) Timing Chain - Used but shows no indication that it is getting even close to shelling or otherwise being un-serviceable. $10.

5) Timing Sprockets - Intake, exhaust, crankshaft, and deflection idler. All are in very, very good shape and would be ideal for replacing yours on a budget. $40 / Full Set. **See note below**

6) Timing Chain Guide Rails - All four. Even the Tensioner Rail looks new! I would like to keep them together, but again, will separate if the price is right. They will be squeaky clean. $40 / Full Set

7) Thermostat housing - 'Nuff Said! $10

8) 240 Transmission - Parts only. Tranny is permanently stuck in 4th gear. shift linkage would move, and feel correct, but did not actually change the gear selection. Obviously something broken with the shift linkage internally.
This is probably getting sold as scrap, but here it is for the taking if anyone is feeling froggy. $FREE

9) E36 M42 Valve Cover- This is off my replacement engine and is not compatible with the E30 intake manifold ( at least without modification) due to the PCV bung's location. $50 **See note below**

10) E36 M42 Cam and Crank Trigger Sensors. Both appear the same as the E30 Sensors, EXCEPT the wires for both are 6"-8" longer on the E36. My best guess is that they could be made to work on an E30. Include all the plastic guides. Selling together or separate. $15 / Each

**NOTE** I can take parts to my favorite machine shop for hot-tanking, bead blasting, inspect items for serviceability, or do machine work at your request, and on YOUR dime. If you are serious about something I am selling here, contact me and we can work any of these things on a case-by-case basis. All parts will be scrubbed / wiped clean for shipment otherwise.

Thanks for reading

You must post your item with a price, or if you are unsure, list a price of what you expect but OBO.

Please post your location. Locals may be interested in pick up, and others could get an idea of what shipping will cost. Less headaches and smoother transactions.

Do not post more than one thread if you have multiple items to sell, all of these items can be consolidated into one post.

Bumping your threads 35 times a day is completely unnecessary, one bump a day is more than enough.

If you have a problem with someone's asking price, take it to PM. No need to pollute the thread.

Make sure that your post makes sense! Be accurate with your descriptions, and make the title easy to understand!

Pictures are always nice, so throw those in whenever possible!

No vendors or dealers in the For Sale threads either, there is a separate thread created for this!

I'm sorry but you do you have to post up prices.

Put up OBO.

Best of luck!

I need a lower chain case. Do you still have it for sale?

I am interested in the crank and rods. Is the crank currently std size? Were the bearings OK or was the overheating due to lack of oil? The limiting factor may be shipping. How much would it be to ship the crank and rods to zip 14845? they can go as slow as necessary to keep $ down. Thanks, Lee
