well i thought it was about time for me to stop pissing around the bush and go for what i have always wanted... all red tails
so i went out and bought myself a bottle of Tamia clear red and Tamia clear coat
i removed the lights and gave a good scrub with a degreaser...
then i taped of accordingly and.... held my breath and sprayed
end result....
FUCKING MINT

i gave it a bunch of blasts of clear and all the slight orange peal just vanished... tamia is basically fool proof...

so then i thought to myself i hate those ugly orange side repeaters... so a couple min later

and well as you can prob see i also took it upon myself to see how good the tamia "smoke" would look
and i like it alot

basically... if you want to go all red tails.... dont spend like 350 on MWH... just take a little time and do it yourself... its very satisfying

Looks good, now smoke those sidemarkers. I used RC body paint called window tint, and did like 4 coats. worked perfectly.

In europe we have for example Duplicolor spray cans available. It is called Duplicolor Transparent. It can be found several colours, red, blue, green, black. It is made for taillight lenses. I used it for my Porsche, had all red taillights and blinger still managed to blink orange ;)

Don't even get the E36 side repeaters. Just Euro trim!

That is an amazing blue. The tails are a perfect set up.

Texas requires orange front and red rear sidemarkers. Usually you can sneak by but every now and then you run into a real "inspector". Does Tamia have a "smoke" paint? Do you buy it on ebay?
There's just nothing like a sharp E30 318is.

oh and too the elements i have a buddy who painted them last year and gone through a salty winter... and they still look as fresh as the day he painted them
with the clear you can just put on another layer of clear every couple of months if you want them to stay... UBER shiney

Where does one get this "clay" bar? I had my car re-painted last year, I was doing some refinishing on a kitchen table with white paint from a hardware store. Somehow some over spray made it to my car now some white dots are all over the new paint job. It was suggested that I use this "clay" bar.

You can get a clay bar at any auto store. I got mine at Autozone. To get overspray off, tho, you might need to shop around to find harder, professional clay that is a bit riskier to use.
