OK, so my brother owns a CNC machine shop. He has a CNC lathe, and a mill, so we can make pretty much whatever parts there is demand for. So, if people on here want to get something made such as aluminum pulleys, or aluminum undersized pulleys, or any other things that are not coming to mind at the moment let me know. depending on the part to make it worth while it would have to be in sets of at least 5, preferably 10 or more. So start your ideas and we will see if there is enough demand to produce such parts.

Hmm converting the pulley's to serpentine?
Can you CNC stuff like that?
Just an idea.

Caliper brackets! Just curious - what year Corrado rotors are 4 X 100 with 1mm smaller centerbores. Same offset and thickness. I'm thinking cheap 11" brakes.

Yes, this is what i was thinking.

I was also thinking of this a while back. if you can spike some interest then its a go, as well with the pulleys.

got a couple ideas...
individual throttle bodies
wider throttle body
lightweight flywheel
shift knobs
e brake handles
pedals
rear strut tower mounts
lightweight lower control arms
treehouse style CAB (material?)
gauge pods/clusters
solid steering coupler (rag joint)
rims?
more to come

the problem with making rims is that you have to buy the cores otherwise you have to buy a chunk of aluminum more then the wheel is worth. then the cores are fairly expensive that it makes it financially impossible to compete with other rim companies unless I establish some sort of reason to have rims that are significantly more expensive then the competition. this is hard to do at an e30 site...;)
same goes for the pedals and e brake handles. its hard to compete with that ebay stuff.
however the rest of that stuff seems more doable. some i think would be hard to get enough interest in to bring the price down to a reasonable level... so, if your interested in any of these idea's lets start a list, and see how is into what product, then we can go from there and bring in some designs and then if everyone is still on board produce a finished product.
So start signing your name and the product your interested in.

i dont have anything specific in mind, but i would be willing to support a fellow forumer if they were making a useful product that was reasonably priced. I am not an M42 expert so I dont know what the possibilities are.

COP brakets. Not saying to take business away from the others on the board but could be a partnership deal.
Shock and strut tower mounts to relocate the mounting point up higher to gain suspension travel.
New lower oil pan that will not be so low as to hit every dime you run over.
Tiny pistons for keychains.

An oil cooler cap would be fantastic :) (ie a cap that replaces your oil filter cap so you can run an oil cooler ill find a link.)

Dont you think that remote oil filter, and oil cooler would be better?
For this you should make a plate with holes for hose and sensors connections. It would be nice to have filter housing for messurements ....

As I said earlier not all oil pass through oil filter and oil cooler in other way..

How about a set of custom uprights for my locost build? Would need to mate up to an e39 bearing and hub assembly. Not something you'd get a lot of requests for but I'd be interested in what he'd charge me.

I think the corrado brake brackets are an excellent idea. reckon I could drum up some interest over here in the uk too. remote oil filter, oil cooler etc would also be an excellent idea imo

we'll start with the corrado brake brackets, anyone have a link to a drawing of them? and which calipers are needed that i can work off of?

this is for the rx-7 brake caliper

oh ok... I'll bite: how about a bracket for a monster alternator?
(hey I need more bass...)
apologies in advance if it isn't a CNC-appropriate application...

how about cross hair plates for smoked headlights.

RX7 caliper with G60 disk, and fitting under 15" BBS? That's another option if so. I had in mind just spacing the standard caliper to accept the G60 disk. I don't have a diagram though Mike I'm afraid.

Mines 145 amps:) and yes i'm looking into making the brackets i used. will be a while because i have to get my other motor to the assembly stage first...

which caliper is bigger/better, the rx7 one or the corrado calliper

corrado rotors, wilwood calipers

yeah that's the ticket. wilwood 4 pots + g60 disks :)
This setup fits under 15" BBS too, just.

and just so everyone knows, at least one of these brackets will be made in the near future. I'll be starting a gb thread once i figure out all the details of the conversion.
89-91 rx-7 (turbo) calipers
91-93 corrado g60 (1.8L supercharged) rotors
some kind of adapter to fit calipers (what i will provide)
machine 1mm of surface either off the wheel hub, or the rotor hat
does this all sound correct?

so like 4 of them roughly? i'll try to get on this next week. i've got a lot of school projects and the semester is comming to an end so it might take a little while. just a warning, they wont be cheap... its a fairly big chunk of aluminum and will require some time to machine.

would you be in at around 200$ for one? because at an order number of around 5, they're going to cost around 200$ give or take to make.

it would resemble what the pic is on the other page. an adapter plate with a some AN fittings and 2 temperature bungs

This is my first post here.
Any news on that oil filter cap?
Vatos a pic please of your installation?

I would order two sets of adapters of the Wilwood calipers to G60 rotors.

i'm like 90% done the rx7 calipers. they're very light, 1 piece, 4 pistons. can be had for ~100$ shipped.
I'm doing one project at a time here, and since its all side projects, i.e. after work and school, it takes a little while.

another vote here for a serpentine pulley set (would'nt this be quite simple to design or get a prototype out there)?
V-belts are old school... out with the old, in with the new...

I will, its not 100% complete yet. I'm getting another bracket made hopefully next week... and then i will take some profile shots to show gap on the rotor between the caliper and such.

I just modeled a bracket for Wilwood billet dynalites on my E21. You know that VAC makes the oil filter cap for less than 100 bucks, undrilled? Not sure if there is enough meat on it to drill and tap for cooling lines, but they have them done.

If you could build a serpintine pulley that will bolt on the existing v-belt crank pulley of the e30 m42 or a complete replacement that would allow the use of the existing v-belts but have a serpintine pulley on top. This would be ideal for people like me who want to use a supercharger without changing all the pulleys and the a/c compressor. Im sure there would be a lot of interest for this.
