Fuse #10

This is killing my patience. Fuse 10 is the fuel/tach/temp gauges, AC/heater blower, back up lights, stereo (I think) maybe a few other components. The wiring appears to be fine. Fuse tends to blow under hard braking. That should tell me something, what, I don't know. Anyone else ever have this problem (and a fix hopefully)?

Check your brake lights.
May want to replace the bulbs, one may be bad and drawing more current.

I had a similar problem on the same fuse... It was the reverse light switch where it passes through the body through the gear lever rubber grommet. Replace the fuse and with the ignition on go though all the gears and see if it blows again. And lift you gear lever leather surround and check the wiring insulation hasn't been worn through on the wires there.

The brake light was fried at the base. Was not original equipment and someone had forced a bulb in there. Thanks to you both I saved a trip to the mechanic.

I have same problem with fuse 10, changed cluster and disconnected reverse light switch. help! :)

How much power was the aux pump pulling? We didn't get many of those...they tend to freeze up, don't they?

I always thought those little pumps would be a good solution for motorcycles though...
