Ok, I like this one, but it does not quite work in my opinion.
The old one, eh...

So, here is the deal, design one, well vote on them and use whichever wins.
Well put this one and the old one to the test as well.

Rules...
1. It should blend with the site (obviously).
2. I should be no taller than 150 pixels. 125 is best.
3. The logo itself and room for the donations button (you can redesign it) should all fit within 1024 pixels wide. I can change it so it will also work with wider monitors later or you can.
4. Any images used need to be public domain, or your own, in which case you need to give M42club permission to use it in any way they see fit.

Winner gets...
The adoration of everyone on the board.

OK!

What about members submitting pics of their cars on their local roads and/or local back drops. These could be a "rotating" banner. I think it would be great to see everyone's car and it never be the same.

Thats sounds like a great idea -- a rotating banner of members photos with a standard logo and the members user name.

I like this one better then the red one.

That can work.
I like it and I already have a script that can do that.

Just make sure it can be cropped decently to work for the banner.

May do something similar with the front page now that we have a decent membership.

Honestly, I think the font is what is mostly wrong.
I ran through the thousand or so I had and never did come across one I liked though.

Here's my contribution.

Yeah the m stripe might be a bit ricey so I can take that out. Just another idea. Obviously the blue BB theme wouldn't mesh very well with this header. I can also suggest the appropriate bb color options as well.

The logo looks good, but where did the engine come from?

This is one of the images I had on my computer. Don't really recall where exactly I got it from but I modified it enough where it doesn't look like the original pic.(p-chopped the intake manifold off so that it gives a more universal approach to either E30 or E36 designated M42 motors). I also have a blue-print style motor pic but I thought this one adds a bit more color.

looks great except for the white dots where the license plate mounts are. Go to Home Depot and buy some metal inserts and paint them black :).

Get rid of the dots and it looks really good .
