I've wanted one of these for a few years now. Ideally I wanted a red 1992 318ic with a black top and tan interior, but when the opportunity to save this one came along I had to take it.

This car had belonged to my boss since new. He bought it off the lot in 1992 and every time the car was serviced he shoved the receipt in the glove box. I have a massive pile of yellowed paper receipts and smudged carbon copies that I've sorted and filed. Mostly dealer services and independent BMW shops :) , with a bunch of Jiffy oil changes along the way :( He bought a new car in 2000 and the 318i wasn't driven much after that. He loaned it to friends, and used it when his other car was in the shop. Thus the car only managed to accumulate 78k miles in its 15 years with him. In February he received a letter from his HOA to get the car out of his driveway. It had been sitting with a flat tire for about 8 months. I finally convinced him to let the car go to a new, better home with me.

Its got some bumps and scrapes, and could really use a buffing, a lip and a set of basket weaves, but for now I'm just enjoying it as a great daily driver (I also have a 1998 M3).

Here's a few pics from the AZBMW.org group drive to Prescott, AZ this weekend (sorry about the crummy quality):

Very nice! Welcome to the club. The drive looks like fun.

BTW, I put an iS front lip on mine and really like the look. Any plans on which lip you are going to go with?

Fabulous mileage. I've only had one older car with low mileage and the major problem was the parts that deteriorate with time. Mainly paint, rubber trim and some rubber engine parts and belts. Also lucky with the maintenance records. I've never been able to keep them for very long despite the best intentions.

Looks like a great car, plus it's low miles. iS lip, rims, and a drop, and that car will look amazing. Love the Dakar M3,too

BTW that M6 is hot....Love the +1/OEM look of the HRE's

Nice cars, esp. the e36. Could you see out your car at night?? That tint looks awfully dark.

That e24 is pure sechs. I think I saw if for sale on Bf.c

Update: No more steelies! 15x6.5" 3-piece OZs now. I've already emailed Kodiak for a quote on wider polished outer barrels :D Of course, if I do that I'll need suspension, and then I'll really need to get an IS lip...it never ends. And yes, the purple tint needs to go, and will in a week or two here.

Also, the e36 is gone :( Sold it on Wednesday.

The tint was 5%, and no, I couldn't see out of it :p It was fine during the day but at night it was a real problem. I had planned for a long time to have the front stuff pulled off and replaced with 20%, never happened.

Rims look good. Definately a drop asap, don't need an iS lip though, the i lip loks good too.
