I know it was on bf.c but I know I'm in a lot different mood when driving my dad's e30 325i than when I drive my m42 just because of how nimble our cars are. What's your favorite m42 driving song?

No worries, I love country, but driving, can't listen to it except for a few songs. Too dang slow of music.

Hmmm...being a big Jazz and Classical music nerd, I listen to a lot of Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, and various Downtempo artists when I'm just "cruising" around. Believe it or not I listen to intense classical pieces when I do some intense driving ie: highway 17 at 2am;). It is a very common misconcepition that all Classical music is "sleepy" music. The "sleepy" music people refer to is a sub-category of Classical called Impressionism(yeah like the painting style). Sorry, the whole Classical music puts me to sleep bit, is something that ignorant people say. My favorite driving works are Vivaldi's 4 seasons, specifically fall and winter; and how can one forget Bethoven's 9th, second movement; Bach's double violin concerto vivace<---pure sex!!! The list goes on and on. On long trips, though, I play a huge array of music, Country excluded.

I have nearly been in 2 wrecks due to country music.
It literally puts me to sleep when I am driving. Not a good thing.

While not my preffered music, I can stand it, and find a song or 2 that I like, but seriously, if I drive, I have a rule, no country, unless you want to die.


I can listen to just about anything with an upbeat tempo to it. Rock, rap, swing, rockabilly, soul, blues, metal, punk, oldies, classic rock, does not matter, good music is good music. Why limit yourself.

I can listen to rap and hip hop. Problem is, it is not as good to drive to.

As for more modern rock, most it sucks. Classic rock sound just works better for driving.

Ya, I'm 18 and I'm one of the few at school who hate rap. I like a very few amount of rap songs, probably 10 in all. Tom Petty is nice music for road trips, but wen I wanna drive hard it's mostly techno w/ some heavy metal. Too much Emo now adays w/ rock

Actually, I love old rap and old-school hip hop... like De La Soul, Arrested Development, Digable Planets, KRS One, Black Sheep, Eric B & Rakim. It's the newer stuff I'm not a fan of. Maybe I'm too old to "get it".

Depeche Mode is probably my favorite driving music for some reason. Can't wait to get an iPod direct link so I can listen to KEXP, Projekt Podkast, and other great free stuff downloaded from the web! I lost all my tapes years ago, so I only listen to public and student radio at the moment.
