Nice '02. Lovin the front valence and the body roll ;) looks like the only rust-free '02 I've ever seen *mouth hanging open in disbelief*
Now all it needs is an M42 transplant... ;)

Nice car, did you get some rubbage with the e21 offsets?
Also got to do my bumper tuck with my tii this summer. Like the black mirrors as I have the same ones. I can't really tell from pic if you've eliminated the chrome strips or not?
Finally found a genuine Zender Urethane front to replace my cracked fiberglass one. Now I'll have a matching front and rear Zender originals. ;)
Interior and rear pics?

I owned a '72 '02 - very close to original with no real rust (a quarter sized surface rust on one door was all she had). It was a really nice car - but I have to admit that I like my M42 sled more...
'02s in stock form are nice cars - but they need a lot of help to make them right. The E30 is a lot closer to where I would want a sporty car to be in stock form.
If I had a big enough garage - I would have a nice tii in there - but since I already experienced one and space is limited - it is unlikely that I will own one any time soon.
Still - great little cars.

I can see this point of view but who drives stock anymore, especially on older cars that always need replacement parts? ;)
One of the things I think an '02 needs is all the body stiffening it can over the 318is.

I can see it - but it is my opinion that '02s need a lot of work to be as good as they can be - while my E30 is basically a suspension update away from being very good for a real 4 seater/4 door car.
I had a really nice '02 and enjoyed it a lot - because it was such a survivor I did not want to be the one that butchered it - but since I am now in the market for another vintage ride - my thoughts have to be - do I want to get another '02 and spend a lot of time and money getting right where I want it or do I want to look at another option?
At this point it looks like I will go the other way and get something that is closer to where I want the car to be when all is said and done - without extensive modifications.

My Tech is completely restoring and rebuilding one. Round tails! At this point it is nothing but a shell. He is replacing panels and surgically removing rust areas. I will take some pics and post them here.

When I picked up my parts this week, they had a red 2002 Alpina race car sitting in the garage! I wish I had my camera!

When I was looking for my E30, an older guy here at work was selling his tii. The exterior was totally mint, the only rust being a little dot the size of a quarter under the spare. The interior could have used some refreshing. It was a little pricey, but sure was a beauty. It was actually too nice, which is why I passed on it. It would have just been a garage queen for me, especially living in the city
I'll have to ask him for some pics. He's a creative director and it was used in a few State Farm ads and other ads through the years. Reading this thread and seeing your nice pics makes me wish I had the room and $$$ to store it 6 months ago!
