Aluminum flywheel options

So it appears that I will need a new clutch in the near future, so I am starting to weigh my flywheel options. I am leaning towards a lightweight aluminum flywheel over the m20 conversion because it appears to be easier to install.

I have found the JB Racing one on TMS

and the one on BMP's site which doesn't list manufacturer but is $130 cheaper then TMS

Are there any other options out there, can any one comment on the BMP flywheel?

BMP's is a Fidanza I think. I believe there are 3 manufactures of the alum flywheel for the m42/m44.

that might not fit our cars. it says e36 318 and also e36 325 so unless you have a tranny from those cars you better rethink before pressing that buy it now button..

does the e36 318 have a different tranny then our cars?

i would love to do this mod but lots of my friends and fellow enthusiast's tell me that this is only a track mod and it will be a pain in the ass to drive around as a daily driver. Reason why is that the car needs the dual mass to keep the engine rotating. What do you guys think? could i do this mod and still have a DD?

I have not driven a 4-cyl with an LTW flywheel before, but other cars seem to be fine with them (sixes and eights). In most cases it really wakes the engine up, but the engine is far more prone to stalling. I think it really depends on how you drive the car. If you always keep it at low rpms, it won't do much for you.

BTW BMP design makes a nice 9-lbs. flywheel here (http://www.bmpdesign.com/category-exec/category_id/47/search_year/1991/search_model/31) that is not only cheaper but also most likely of a better quality.

BMP will probably be the way I go if I get a new flywheel. I'm having a hard time justifying putting an extra $500 over the $700-800 a new clutch + labor is going to run me when the car itself is only worth ~$2500

just gotta send them an m20 flywheel as a core or an m42 core...not sure.
