When the clutch is pressed in there is a slight vibration in the pedal and a noise that sounds like a loose belt spinning. When I release the clutch pedal the noise goes away.

The noise is audible in neutral or any gear, its not too loud, I don't notice it unless the windows are down. I just noticed this a couple days ago and as much as I've been looking for an excuse to get a lightened flywheel i'd rather not have to do any major work right now. Any thoughts?

If the throwout bearing is the problem, what does that mean to me in the short term? Is this something I should get in to a shop asap to have looked at or is it something that I can let ride? Also what would be involved for repair?

You're looking at a new clutch kit. Plan for doing it in the near future as the bearing can be noisy for a while without being a problem.
