The car runs great and gets around 30mpg.
My harnesses just go under the head rest,
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/9654/fhd027wh9.th.jpg (http://img407.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fhd027wh9.jpg)
and are bolted in under the back seat using the stock seatbelt buckle mounts.
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8553/fhd028th5.th.jpg (http://img407.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fhd028th5.jpg)
Its probably not the best way. A harness bar is better, this way probably compresses your spine in an accident? tons of people run this though.
I put on some euro grills and painted the flaking chrome kindey today.
Put on the K1s for fun too. it needs to be lower. I think im getting some H&R race springs to replace these.

With the scroth you want to run the straps between the headrest posts. FYI.

thanks I love the house, I've got a 3 car garage along with the 2 car under the house.

I havent actually used the harnesses yet I just set them up for the pics, they normally lay in the back seat. Im going to make some straps like the "godfather" has in his car.

thanks for the compliments. I have off work tomorrow for my birthday(with pay :D ) and am pulling the intake manifold, replacing the gaskets and hoses and glass beading it. someone painted it with some spray paint that flaked off it makes the engine bay look terrible.

As previously stated I had Tuesday off for my birthday so I played with the 318 all day.
Took off the intake manifold replaces the coolant hoses and gaskets.
I glass beaded and painted the manifold and a few other peices I'm pretty happy with how the engine compartment looks as of now.
Before(plugs removed)

It was worth the time and effort. I think the car had a small intake leak it seems to run/idle better now. This car is too much fun.

What is glass beading?

Shocker
04-12-2007, 08:18 PM
Media blasting (sand blasting), instead of using sand they use very fine ground up glass.

How did the finish turn out (hard to tell on the photo's)? Is it a smooth finish?

Bunta
04-13-2007, 07:57 AM
It be down for doing a few for you guys.
I glass beaded it which removed all the old paint and cosmoline/grease, then painted it with Dupli-color cast aluminum ceramic paint. the finish is still the same texture but looks as it its never been painted it came out just like i wanted. i'll post more pics of it later.

Pictures never truly show a car remember that. Lower anything, put wheels on it clean it up and put it on the forums and a decent photographer can make anything look presentable.
The car had terrible paintwork repairing some dents at one point. It has some straightening on the drivers door/quarter and the paint work is mediocre at best. To most people it probably looks fine but I wark at a body shop so im Super picky. But as I said its a beater I dont care, it has all original panels though thats the main reson I bought it.
If it doesnt have original paint and panels(like my 89) its a beater.

Picked this car up the other weekend

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9539/jhb010.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=jhb010.jpg)

It needs lots of things like a timing rebuild, release bearing, CABs.
Ive got lots of things to put on it already.
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/166/jhb006.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=jhb006.jpg)
Bilsteins, P/N 50404.55 H&R Sports, M20 Flywheel and clutch, stainless brake lines
Spare parts FTW
Ive got some 15" BBS RZs to go on it as well.
Lots of miles but the car is in amazing shape all original paint and panels, close to perfect interior, tweeters, premium speakers, black headliner, nice car.

Hopefully have it lowered and order some tires and a IS lip for it next week.

Haha maybe one day. If I turbo anything it'll be the white car. The engine management scares me most. Ill see how your Megasquirt endevour goes and decide if i'm up to it.

I need to start posting over here more.

Perfect day for working on the car last Sunday.

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/637/iphone001.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone001.jpg)

Nice fresh Glasurit Single stage paint.
Roll bars are a total pain in the dick to paint.

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/5049/iphone003.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone003.jpg)

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/1275/iphone008.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone008.jpg)

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/3658/iphone009y.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone009y.jpg)

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/1369/iphone014.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone014.jpg)

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/1521/iphone015.jpg (http://img192.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphone015.jpg)

Still need to cut the carpet around the floor and make a peice of carpet to cover where the seats use to be. Waiting on some padding as well.
This was one of those things i've wanted in my e30 since I got into them when I was about 8 yrs old.

Ive been putting a timing belt and new bumper on my Audi so its taking the white cars spot.
It had to sit in the snow the last 2 days

I need to do some rust work on the back(entire new rear body panel),
just put on the e28 spoiler the other night. I think I might pick up some drop hats
to hold me over until I get coils. Sport spings are weak

its an e28 spoiler off a 535is the e24(6 series) fits aswell.
I only paid $150 shipped for it
They stick over the decklid a little more and are ribbed on the rubber.
I like it better than the tech1

Brakes are just the Massive sport kit
I LOVE THEM
