Ha now that you remind me. I havent driven mine in like a year but i have a traxxas nitro rustler with TONS of mods. I started rebuilding the engine AGAIN but never finished, its sitting in my room. They are fun, i used to take mine to Pismo Beach and beat all the people on their 2 stroke bikes! I clocked mine at 52mph W/my gps. I think the REVO does like 60mph.....right?

ya, but I dunno if you heard bout the new revo motor, it's a 3.3 so it's got lots of power. I've seen one that hadn't been tuned yet nad it wuz fastest I've seen so far, and the motor was in a monster truck, so should be even faster in a stadium truck type format like the revo.

ya they are fun. I drive mine for like a week, then it sits around for like a year, then i get back into it a drive for another week then it sits around some more....etc. Its not worth it to sell. I know in like 5 years or maybe more i'll dig it up again and tinker W/ it.....it gives me something to do when im bored. You should get one if you have the money, mine was well worth it.

Pismo? Where are you from? I lived in SLO for a while after high school.
I have an RC10GT that hasnt been run in like 6 years. I used to play with it a lot but when I got into BMW's I only had enough money for one hobby :( .

Hmm, I was saving for a trans for the Miata, but I may have to go get some parts and get mine running... A bit dated though as I got out as a lot of new cars were coming out.
May have to go take another look at that Mugen MBX5... Add an OS or Novarossi motor.. yummi!
Current stable.
XX-4 Was one of the fastest around. clocked at over 45mph in dirt trim. It has hung with factory racers on several occasions. When I stopped racing it, I was gearing up for national level competition. At that level it is fun, but VERY expensive. I can make this car do almost anything I want, on the groud, or in the air.
T-Maxx with an in progress .21 conversion (had a Novarossi.12, this put 1 horsepower in it, it ripped with that, the new motor is over 2hp, unfortunately it has a bad carb. Should do wheelies at 50+)
Bolink Top Fuel rail (dragster) it has clocked over 55mph, but it was tuned for consistency, not fast times
Mini RS4 (baddest little racer! With a high speed servo and a hot motor, it does donuts in its own tracks, and turns faster than you can see, pro drivers who have driven, say they feel drunk). Think of a 40mph car (rally 40) capable of nearly 50, and will do a u-turn in less than 10 feet at anything below 30. It is too bad they stopped making them, they were insane.
The RS4 Mini and the XX4 are by far my favorites. The XX4 for racing, the Rs for pure fun. I am not scared to do anything, with either car. The Mini has been run around an dirt track, and done 6 foot airs on a 10 foot half pipe, the XX4 has been over 25 feet in the air (hit a 5 foot tall jump at 35mph) and hit jumps nearly 20 feet high. Early XX4's were brittle, mine, is bulletproof for me.
In parts, I also have:
a Clodbuster (undergoing a custom chassis fabrication)
A C&M Cobra Sprint car ( parted out to convert my old Kinwald to oval, boy were both fast)
Previous cars... sorry, I have had so damn many, some more than once, and my RC time spans about 20 years so you will have to forgive me if I miss some At one point my collection was 13 or so, I know the radio could not hold all of them and it held 10, I have since thinned it a bit.
Rs4 nitro
Ofna 1/10 on road car
XX Kinwald (converted to oval)
XXT (several)
RC10 (several different ones)
Frog
Blackfoot (multiples)
Hornet
old Tamiya 4wd (cannot think of the name)
custom built Tamiya F1
Quite a few others that I am forgetting.
Yeah, I do some Rc...

That's an awesome list, I so wish I had the money for that. Right now I'm saving for either a t-maxx 3.3 or a revo 3.3. Either way I want the 3.3 motor cuz of the power and I'm leaning towards the t-maxx cuz of the money and a friend of mine has a hella sick t-maxx he used to drive but now is strictly a show truck. Tragically the only one so far is a mini-t. Great starter to get me into the hobby, but too quiet and no gas.

I started in on planes at one point. Found I dispised repairing them.
Not to mention a lack of depth perception makes it a bit harder for me. I cannot judge distance very well.

i have a piper cub, an F-16 with remote bombs and missles:D, a super sportster, 2 trianers, a little beater plan that im not even sure what it is, i had a crappy engine and some scetchy servo's i wanted to put in it and fly it full speed into a tree or the ground or somthing...:p a morcey bravo, and i think thats it... and i know what you mean about fixing them, i'v repaired my trainer twice, caught in a huge side/tail wind when comming in for a landing, none of the controlls worked, couldn't thottle out of it despite the fact that the engine is twice the regulated size:D and it went straight into a water hazard (the field is right beside a golf course) and the super sportster 3 times. that plane i want to crash i had to totaly piece back together!

yeah, but watching the plane crashes is almost worth the time it takes to fix it. i was there when a fockerwolf went down, it had a 6 ft. wingspan, me and 3 other guys were there and the guy took it off (the plane was 10lbs over weight) so the guy took off, he starts to go into a mild left turn and it tip stalls and goes straight into the ground, huge explosion of dirth, wood, and epoxy everywhere!!! it was awsome. that and mid air colisions are sweet to watch, or dog fighting. you tie a ribbon onto the tail of your plane (every plane has one) and you try to cut the other persons ribbon off.

sweet. i want a real cub :) those look like fun. At the club i used to fly at a guy had this $10 grand jet, they clocked it at 280mph! anyway he was flying it and it had a servo glitch and went straight into the gound at like 120mph! words cant describe but it was pretty sick, not for the guy of course but the spectators. cool stuff.

damn i forget where you can get them but there is a company that makes pull starters for .40 & .46 OS glow engines, search the web, sorry i forgot the name, that would be sick if you did it. You just touch the throttle and it would wheelie:D

yeah i'v seen one of those. those things are scetchy, it wouldn't even be fun to fly... always worried! some guy brought a hercules to the air strip. it had an 18 foot wing span, the full landing gear setup, 4 huge 6 piston engines. it had its own trailer that i got towed in on! i never got to see it fly tho:(

That is one of ths biggest reason I got out of planes.
When I get into a hobby, I tend to go full bore. So whilelearning on my trainer, I had a buddy who worked at the shop who sponsored me for racing cars start building me a competition level Bipe, yeah still learning and already building a high end competition plane... Saito 1.5, hand picked servos for each possition, good builder, etc.. just a badass bipe. Started witha Goldberg Ultimate, but found it to be subtandard... Again, I go full bore, one of the best Bipes was not good enough... Keep that in mind when you read the next part :p
Anyhow, I had been looking at building a couple jets or fan jets. First a B2 bomber. Why? Because it was cheaper and easier to build than the next plane a swing wing F111. Both being around 8-10 foot long. I was working on dimensions, engines etc. when I got in touch with a few guys doing custom planes like this. Low-ball estimates for me to do the B2 was $10-20k depending on setup and probably 2 years to build... Great! 2 years and $20k later I could have one of my dream RC planes, and I had every possibility of it going down on its maiden flight. The estimates for the F111 was downright staggering (well, if you consider $10-$20k decent for an RC plane I guess). They figured 5+ years to build, and $20-$40k to do it right . Where in the dollar range do you think I would have fallen?
NO THANKS.
After losing my trainer due to an updraft on aproach for my first solo landing, I pulled the plug. I realized I hate working with balsa wood, and that the 2 jets would not be a whole lot of fun to fly anyhow. Not to mention affording them on a military paycheck would be difficult. This was intensified by the fact that my buddy building my bipe was building a Sukoi with 2.8in. gas engine and had it go in on its maiden run due to radio interference. It went in so hard that it bent the crank and cracked the engine case. I think he managed to salvage the tank and one servo. He had a few grand in it, was a very experienced pilot and builder, the guy designed and built his own stunt plane.
Then there was the fact that for the price of either one, I could get lessons AND buy a small Cessna, a real one.
Add this to my already decent collection of hobbies (stunt kites, computers, cars, rc cars, bmx bikes...) and it becomes downright rediculous. The only good part of it all is that for many of my hobbies I either ended up working in the industry or was good enough to get sponsored. Though not major ones, but at least enough to keep costs reasonable.
I may try helis soon though. I am scared. Very scared.

dont buy a cessna, get a piper warrior, they are cheaper (like $25 grand) and way more fun! and get training in it!
I also read you used to do stunt kites, i have one also, it cost about $20 and is just as much fun as my old r/c planes and cost way less! and i havent put any money into it or crashed it. Hey post some pics of your old Bipe if you have them:)

not sure what company it is, I'll check this week, but I know the savage ss comes w/ a 4.6 so that motor woiuld be awesome to have, and somewhere there is a 8hp motor floating around, it's like a 4.8 or somethign like that, I'll ask this week on those.

This thread has inspired me! I dug my RC10gt out of the box that has been its home since 1999 when I blew the motor at the beach and decided I couldnt afford BMW's and R/C. I crossed my fingers and threw some batteries in the old radio. It works! I am shocked that the radio and servos still work.
I am going to order a OS .18CVR motor and resurrect this thing.
I cant believe I sunk so much money into this POS when I was 16 making $8/hr 15hrs/wk

Well, today we got the LST 2 running and all broken in. First run out and one of the guys was driving, didn't realize the brakes were so tight and front tire wheelied it 6-8 feet right infront of the owner(my gf's dad). He just about crapped himself cuz it almost went end over end, but al is well and now we have a new record to beat for the longest front tire wheely.

Nice, I'm personally a fan of the rc18 stuff, it's tiny and w/ the top mamba motor, we had one at work do a backflip at around 40mph just by puttin the throttle down all the way.
