Just wondering? Ive driven '95 M3's, '03 porsche carrera's (not that impresive), and many other fast cars but i think the fastest one to date was a porsche 928 (V8....pain in the ass to work on) you could floor it on dry roads at like 40mph and still breaks the wheels loose, oh i forgot about the V12 jag a drove a couple months ago (forgot which model).....i hate jags but this car was FAST.
You guys?

My freind's 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT. Basically a 3000GT with a different body kit. Damn quick. Had upped the boost & added alcohol injection & stuff.

Yikes... I've driven a dodge viper on the autocross course at lime rock a couple of times... it's an absurdly powerful car.... squealing tires are happy tires I guess. I've driven the school cars (open wheel cars with dodge neon engines) on the road course. They have 200+ hp and they weigh about 1000 pounds, so they get going pretty well.

'95 Corvette, built '64 mustang and pro street '66 chevy. The corvette actually could get traction and we did 170 in 5th w/ a 6 speed. He had gone through the motor and it was all suped up.

an ultima gtr me and my dad are oh so close to finishing. Just down our driveway sitting on nothing but a folded up towel. It would be done now but we are replacing the throttle cable because the factory one has way too much stretch, and we got sent the wrong size liner for the new cable

my wrx! it's not terribly fast but its enough to get me in trouble, and see past the speedometer reading. also an STi, but that was before i could beat them. driven in a 430hp evo, that was fun.
instead of upgrading my turbo/intercooler and all supporting mods im buying an m42!

Well I used to own a moderately fast car..
I owned a 1991 Mazda MX6 GT for a little while. It ran 12s in the 1/4 mile...
12psi, 3" all the way back, thunderbird inlet and outlet on a IHI 35 running through a 10" spearco intercooler.. ported manifold.. and much much more. That used to be my daily drive and was a lot of fun when a mustang would pull up on me. They never knew what was coming.
I've also driven a 10 second 79 camaro with a vortec v8 in it. It was my brothers and was sitting around 550 hp. It was a damn quick car and had a real hard time keeping grip on dry roads, let alone a wet one.

I guess those are kind of fast?

christophbmw but the elise it is better built and lighter than the exige. you can get the same track pack from the exige on the elise, and its cheaper.

I'll bet Dino is in FL (didja go to the 12hrs? did I meet you in the Porscheplatz?). Those turbo leCar renaults were WAY out there.
Fastest is many things- acceleration (a buddy's AAR Cuda way back -1976- when I didn't know better), top speed (an Audi Quattro Coupe not quite as far back -1986- good for a continueous 250 kph on the autobahn).

Damn - I am a slow poke. And I have poor friends. The fastest I've ever driven in a car is just over 110. Done it in three different cars, but always on highways and in traffic so I couldnt realistically keep it up. Three cars were a friends Nissan back in the day, my wifes e36, and her brothers 330. Havent really had a chance to throttle my 318is yet.
The fastest car I've ever driven was when I met my friends brother and he had just bought a brand new Z4 3.0. I told him my wife and I are BMW addicts and he asked if I wanted to take it for a spin. 2 seconds later I accidently caught 2nd in front of a cop and he was like, whoa - you wanna take this out on the highway and open it up or run it through some hilly switchbacks?.... a minute later I was slaloming around 35mph curves at about 80 trying to get it to drift but it just hung on to the road like the tires were melting.

do motorcycles count? ;)
If so, it would have to be my brothers '91 GSXR 1100. Pegged the speedo just past 190mph on the way to Vegas. The needle was bouncing pretty hard, so I figure it had to be at least 205. That was fun as bloody hell. :D
I've only gotten my FZR 1000 up to 160, at that point it starts shaking it's head, and I slow down before it throws me off.
Need to buy a steering dampener for it.
As for cars... I guess the fastest I've driven would be a 2004 Z06. It had good power, but I wasn't liking the car. :\
2004 GTO (yeah baby). Now THAT car... I frickin loved. If I had the money, I'd get one. Too bad it didn't have displacement on demand, so it would only use four cylinders while cruising. Would have bumped the HW mpg up from 28 to at least 35. Nevertheless, the GTO is one wicked car.
Haven't taken my e30 past 120 yet, never a long enough straightaway. That and I fear having my license revoked if I ever get nabbed going faster.
Other than that, I really haven't had the opportunity to drive other fast cars.
Been in a 929 twin turbo. Friend won't let me drive his NSX. That's about it.
Cheers

Wow i bed you have the best job off us all!
Couple of my teammate used to go to the Daytona 24H with a british based.
My race-cars are a kind of Nascar type. Not quite as strong and fast, but still kinda cool.
