I installed my new header and found out that the pass side mount is torn completly apart. I would like to install solid rubber mounts but I dont have a cross refrence to another model that I can use. Is it possible to use M20 solid rubber mounts? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe e28 535i mounts are what you need.
How's the header?

header works fine but I think I need a larger throttle body now. the car pulls nicely and sounds alittle louder.

e28 mounts are definitely a cheaper route. Expect some added in cabin noise and vibration.

Yeah, the E28 535i ones are it. I have used them in both cars. Throttle response benefits greatly. A bit more noise & vibration, but it is well worth it. You just have to grind off the alignment tabs.

Apparently the engine mounts from M30-powered E28 535i will fit with minor modifications. Part number is 11811132793 and you may also need some 2mm washers with a 10mm internal diameter. The E28 mounts need to be modified by cutting off the alignment tab.

When I last bought my M30 mounts they were $33 per side. Got them from www.pelicanparts.com . BMA is cool & alll, but I much prefer Pelican. Fast shipping, complete online catalog (you can punch in any PN and itll get you a price).

Which model E21? Do you have a part number? Any modifications required? Has anyone done this and can report back on what it's like?

I give props to Patrick at BMA. He's quite knowledgable and helpful. Good prices too, and if he doesn't have it, he'll look around for you. Thanks for the referral. I'll be using him for parts again in the future.
The parts guy at the dealer hooked me up with the wholesale price, so I just got the M42 mounts at the dealer.
