So, about 2.5 years ago one of my best friends transferred from UOP to UCSB. It was for a variety of reasons, and I kinda wanted to as well, but UOP's engineering program had a number of advantages. So, I stayed (and have no regrets). Him & I have hung out a few times since then, and I finally made the time to go down there & visit and do more than just get ragingly drunk (the other time I was there was for Halloween...the whole town of Isla Vista is basically a 30,000 person street-party). Another good friend of ours (who stuck around UOP as well) came down for the weekend, so it was sorta like old times, except nobody was living in a dorm, and we could afford more than Keystone Ice lol.
So, here are the chronicles of the weekend.
Nick (right) & I (left) smoking the old-man pipe. Nothing like a little nicotine to ummm get you hooked on tobacco products?

Now THIS is a dinner. We later decided to grill up somereal food, but this did us for a little while lol.

This is Jorge, the friend of ours who came down from UOP later Friday night. He decided to try and sleep in later than we thought proper. This is what you get for being a lazy bum.

Nick rappeling down the first route after setting up the anchors. I soon followed.

I cannot remember what the famous painting is called, but we reenacted it with an apple sauce container. Jorge (on the right).

This was me at the top of my first lead-climb. After top-roping the route once or twice I decided to try to lead it. It was only a 5.6a, but damn you rethink every hold when you are working up to the next anchor point.

Nick leading a route he had never tried before. It was a 5.9b...he took a little spill partway up.

Nick's GF belaying him, me airing out my feet. Climbing shoes are stuffy!
