Anyone here subscribe to Bimmer magazine? Is it worthwhile for us E30 owners to get it?
I get more than enough info about the new BMWs from Roundel and Autoweek, honestly, so if this is more geared towards the newer ones, I'll just toss the ad they sent me in the trash. If, however, they have some genuinely interesting tech articles on the older BMWs, I wouldn't mind subscribing...
Thoughts?

I got a card from them too. Looks interesting, but I can't imagine it has more to offer than Roundel. Excellence is a better Porsche mag than PCA's Panorama, though, but Roundel already covers alot more than just BMWCCA stuff.

Roundel>Bimmer for the frequency of E30 stuff. Both good mags.

there was an interesting e30 price guide in this months Bimmer mag. I just picked it up for that though. Not sure about the rest of the run.

I used to get Bimmer. Rarely, they would do a buyer's guide and have an E30, but that was mostly it. A comparison of the E30/36/46 M3 was about the only other one in 6 years of subscription. Basically, it just has AA/Renntech/Hartge/ACS "MONSTER CAR OMGG!!! NEW POWER RECORD MUST SEE!*(Q#^%&*!!!" in every issue and on the cover, kinda like European Car mag. I stopped subscribing to both just due to the excess of ads and the annoying glorfication of dyno-queen cars in every issue.
Oh and the E30 buyer's guide was poop anyway. All it really said about the M42 cars is that it left drivers wanting more torque or something like that. Lame sauce.

This is what I was thinking, based on the flyer they sent me... :)
Thanks guys, moving on!

I got Bimmer last year, but got tired of reading the same articles in it and the Roundel (besides, who really wants to read about a quadturbo e46 with spinners and mirror tint). This year I'm going to get Grassroots Motorsports.

I get bimmer, roundel, and GRM, and Bimmer seems to be all highly modded cars, with a few s50 E30's. GRM actually has the most information on down-to-earth E30's on a regular basis, but even that isn't much. It is the best as far as real-world cars and auto-xing go, though

Both are good books. Satch Carlson, editor of Roundel, is a great guy and has an e30.
And Mike Miller, who writes the tech columns for both mags, is a HUGE fan of the 1991 318i and is -- thinks they are best BMWs ever built, from a fun and reliability standpoint.
Except for dash electrics, do any of us disagree?
