nice sound, almost sounds like an S14 with an alpha N (almost). It really shows that the 318is is very well balanced and tossable.

It sounds like he doesn't have an exhaust at all. That would be way to loud for the area I live in, everyone would be complaining.

so, how do I get to drive my 318 that way?
What technique is used to make that happen?

Thanks

guys come on now, my car is pretty loud w/ the glasspack and I was even pulled going up a big hill and he didn't say anything about my exhaust. In fact he appologised for pulling me, needless to say I didn't get a ticket much less a warning ;)

Never mind – found some info while I did a bit of searching on different techniques. However, I think I will stay away from the way the second driver does it in the video...

That folks is the slow way around a corner. Drifting is visual entertainment. Show boat time. As far as competition driving and the fast way around a corner it's a major mistake that costs you about .5-2 seconds on a 1 minute lap. It sure impresses some people though!

Crashing is a part of drifting. Even the best crash. If you don't want to crash your car or can't afford to have a mishap - don't drift :p

I don't agree completly. Yes, the Fast and the Furious driftin takes a lot more time and is very costly tire wise but look at rally drivers, they drift all the time and they're extremly fast. Myself on the track, I think it helps to rotate the car faster if you get a bit sideways but don't misunderstand me...it's far from drifting...it's hard to explain...it's a subtle press on the throttle that makes you go smoother around the corner.

As for crashing being part of drifting...getting the car sideways is the easy part, maintaining the slide takes a little more technique but getting the car straight again without losing the ass the other way is another story.
