Does anyone have a socket for the 30mm nut on the transmission tailshaft they could loan or rent? I need to put in a new rear trans seal. Sir tools wants $50 and I'll probably only use it once. It has to be very thin walled and extra deep..
I have a UPS account and will cover shipping both ways. I provide you with the account number and you put it on the UPS ticket. They ship to me and charge the account.

if you're a BMWCCA member see if the club has a toolbox.
Here in NJ the club has a nice amt. of tools including the 30mm thin wall socket, the rear wheel bearing kit, subframe bushing removal tool and a ton of other stuff...it's paid for my membership over and over and over again.
This thread gave me the inspiration to start a thread to connect people together for the purpose of loaning specialized tools.

Please post all subsequent tool requests there.

AutoZone has 30, 32, 34 & I think 36mm sockets for free rental. You pay a deposit up front, which you get back when returning the tool. Or, you can keep the tool for the price of the deposit.
