Anyone here ever use it to list or purchase?

I looked at quite a few E30's in my area on craigslist before I settled on one I found in the newspaper. Either way, there are good deals out there, and it is always a good idea to look at different areas around you because there are some really good deals in some of the bigger areas. Cool stuff.

I read the terms of use but didn't see a fee for posting. I was wondering if there even existed any charges. Seems odd.

No charges for doing personal listings. I believe they only charge businesses for certain types of classifieds.

I've come across some pretty decent deals as well as some weird or odd listings from time to time such as "Hugs and Kisses for money". haha.

BTW, the founders turned down $30million or so because they wanted to keep it grassroots style and have better control themselves.

you don't have to have an account to post on there. also ebay owns a % of craigslist, so someday in the future they will probally charge for their services.

i've bought and sold several cars and ect. through craigslist, it's a great site.

Just watch out for scammers. If it seems to good to be true, it is! And don't fall for the "I'm selling my BMW for more than half off blue book, but it's overseas.... send me money." scam that I saw every single day looking for my car.

A small percentage(25%) and the agreement was that Ebay mainly provide scammer prevention for the Craigslist ads since Ebay has the better resources to prevent these. Ebay still needs to make money for their shareholders but they are realigning their business strategies and goals when it comes to Craigslist. For now, they seem to be happy and also able to "get by" just charging businesses for classifieds.

I'm thankful for the existence of craigslist. That's where I found my pride and joy :)

It's a great source for buying/selling stuff w/o any service charges.
