Dude, let´s talk!
The manual tranny of my 318i it´s still on it. It has 180k miles but it was running smooth and as nice as you could expect. I say "was" because it doesn´t currently have a motor attached to it. I don´t think there´s a difference between 318i and 318is in the transmission itself. I believe it´s the Getrag 240, isn´t it?
If you help me get it off the car it´s yours for, let´s say, $100?

We should talk. Do you rmember if it rattled in neutral with the clutch engaged? That's what I would like to get rid of with the transmission I have.

I remember clearly it did not do any of that. It never gave any trouble. I think the differential may be different in the IS, but the transmission itself it's the same, right?
