Well, thus far I am quite impressed with the forum. The turnout has been very good, and content is being added nicely. All in all, I would say this has the potential to be a very useful M42 tool.

What other E30 groups/forums are out there that we can fish in for members? So far, it is just BF.c and R3v that we have pulled from? I can look into contacting BayE30, E30Tech, and DTMPower (I was a big user there like 4 years ago, then it died).

Advertising. Well, obviously this is still a small, very enthusiast oriented group. Finding sponsorship might be difficult. It appears that mostly the devout M42 folks are up in here, the DIY types that are very discriminating about their mod purchases (as in I do not think too many of us that joined here are the "my intake gives me 10hp, if I swap my K&N for Apexi will I get another 5?" types). Still though, anyone have ideas/connections for getting sponsorship type stuff? Heh, not much will be engine-related...I think the M42 is the least-moddable BMW motor (why mess with somethig\ng that was tuned right the first time?!).

Anyway, good work guys! Props to Febi & Sheepdog for their hard work. Thanks Febi for getting this thing up with you hard earned $. Let's continue to make this the great resource we all want it to be!

The Godfatherer

There's a 318is yahoo group that I can try and recruit members from. The group is mainly 318is owners of australia but hey, why stop at the U.S. borders.

I am all for it. The non-US members usually have the coolest mods since they have access to a lot more stuff than we do (thank you smog legislation).

Already sent an email to the group.

I think this is going to be an awsome tool for us m42 people. The forum looks great right now and looks like it will stay that way. All I can say is it has been worth all the waiting for it to come up :D

i'v been fishing some of the local M42 guys, and perhaps ill venture into the other forums i don't frequent as often and do some advertising...

I'm going to have to agree with out, this is going to be more of a forum for people with more knowledge then the average owner... and if not then we will educate them:D

as for sponserships ill be thinking about that... have you tried the ones that come to mind first like bma, and the other popular online stores?

I can look into trying to work out some sort of club discount with them or something. If we were to do that, I could contact BMA (though I have never dealt with them before). I almost exclusively buy parts from Pelican Parts. They have a very good online catalog, and good prices. Fast shipping too (then again, they have 2 warehouses in CA, and I am in CA). Any others folks would like to have discount requests from?

I know that some of us on the East Coast order from BavAuto, since they're out here. They don't put quite as much on their internet site, but they can usually get whatever you are looking for.
