I have a m42 that i turbocharged several months ago, i blew the head gasket the other night and was wondering if anyone knew of the best one to get or where to get thicker ones?

you can get a headgasket that is .3mm thicker from the dealer or anywhere that sells OE parts.

first step, post all the details and many pictures of your setup.
second step, got to http://www.vacmotorsports.com/cgi-bin/view_item.pl?item_id=470 and get yourself a steel gasket, made for boost

The head gasket is the first thing in our engines that will blow when boosted. Add metric blues or a "boost" headgasket and the next weak link in the engine is the piston rings. Would you rather replace your headgasket or rings?!?!
I would just replace your head studs and gasket w/ oem parts.

well it depends of its tuned well or not. If he is detonating all the time the i would hope he has a shitty gasket. also depends on if its leaking slightly or it actually was detonation that caused it to "blow". besides, one of those thicker ones means less compression of course. Is the stock gasket really able to hold a good amount of boost?

I had it tuned with cold plugs and i cleaned the plugs and took it out and it started to detonate again so i drove it home and fixed it and took it out and i was out of coolant and one cyl. is down to 125 psi, i just want to drop the compression down so i can run it with out detonation, im not going to increase the boost
