The plate is the same. The E36 M42/M44 kit will require 4 "pig tail" connectors from each coil spliced into the coil wiring for the M44 Coil Pack.

Just installed this last night, cleaned up an idle/hesitation issue and wasnt much more then a new set of wires. Yay for never having to buy those again.
