Need HELP !!
« on: June 09, 2006, 11:09:38 AM »
I'm in need of a new (to me)  wagon for the little woman .
I thinking between a 1997 and 2000 .
I'm looking at either a 850 Volvo or a 525i wagon .
I would appreciate any  comments or suggestions on these cars or others that you might think appropriate .
It must be a wagon and I'm looking for reliability  and keeping cost down .
Thanks in advance  :)

buy the 525it really.  My friend's family was in the market for a wagon and they were looking at a 525it and volvo wagons.  If you have ever driven a volvo wagon and a 525it you will see why I REALLY reccomend the BMW over the Volvo's.  The BMW is much more fun to drive and it just feels like a nicer car.  The Volvo's feel cheap to me, they seem like they would start to fall apart inside after a few years.  Anyway I just wanted to give you my 2 cents after helping a VERY picky dad decide on a car.  Now everytime I see him he thanks me for reccomending the BMW over the Volvo.

850s have not rated highly with the straight (non car-geek) press like consumer reports, etc.  Volvo is not the company it used to be, unfortunately, but times changed so they moved on.  A volvo was never a sporting car ('cept the p1800).  A bmw was ALWAYS a sporting car.   What was your question again?
