M42 Power & Performance upgrades
« Reply #15 on: May 06, 2008, 05:11:51 PM »
H guys again thanks alot for all the information....... im thinking is ti even worth doing up the m42 engine anymore because the money i will be spending on the IS  im better of starting with something stronger and which has more natrual power something like a s50 or 2.5i which has standard 190rwhp i think i do live in london guys and money well for pure preformance i have 2000 pounds thats parts and labour i do nto have a garage so i can not do the work myself...\

the cosworth engine 2.0Turbo are engines not to be messed around with when it comes to off the line, mid range and top end preformance and acceleration. They come with 350BHP stock and after that you also have the option to play around with the bugger to gain more power..............Now the question is......IS it worth working on such a small 1.8IS which only comes with  136bhp or shall i start of with somethign with abit more power i.e. m50b25 = 2.5i or the major s50

GUYS I NEED HELP !!!!!!

Sounds like you are looking for what I call a "stoplight" car. The M42 is not designed to be that type of car. It is made for back roads where horsepower does not matter as much. You should look at other options beside the M42. These cars are not about horsepower.
