The photo of the switch mounted on the firewall is a "universal" type it has a probe you insert into the top radiator hose and clamp it inside the hose. as you can see it has the means to adjust it when you want the fan to turn on. What I did I let the car idle until I saw the temp needle just above the halfway mark then I turn the adjustment screw until the fan kick in. I got both the fan and the switch from Auto Zone. 16" fan both were inexpensive.
