need 4.26 lsd
« on: November 21, 2007, 02:44:25 PM »
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a 4.26 lsd differential thats not too pricey? I'm trying to put together a quick and reliable daily driver, I was going to go boost but find it easier and more reliable to go this rout with a couple of engine upgrades like a makd 93 chip, underdrive pulleys, cams and a flex fan. In combo with that a 4.26 lsd and a whole bunch of suspension work..... it'll be reeeeeealllly fun to drive:D.

That will be very tiresome on the highway, probably closer to 4k but that's still pretty bad. If you really want one, e30 318i convertibles have them and they are very rare, LSD or open. I believe they are actually 4.25's, so you might want to include that in your search if you are on ebay. Another way to go that would be even worse on the highway is the 4.44 out of the 31ti auto. I think they have to be out of a clubsport to be LSD, so they are also very rare.

They're actually 4.27 (check realoem or ETK). I had the 4.27 with the Getrag 240 and at 68mphin 5th gear i had 3k rpm. No problem.

60 mph at 2900rpm isn't my idea of fun but whatever. I have a 4.1 lsd im thinking of selling if the price is right. I'm happy with my 3.64 open diff and im never going back.

Well I will keep my 4.10 as a spare and to put on for trips. I mostly do city driving and some "spirited" driving plus there is a track only 15min away. I just think with all those little mods I would put on it would really make this little guy a sweet drive and give it the extra kick I crave from a sixer without throwing off that drool worthy balance that the 318is' have. Thanks again guys, your awesome!!
