I'm going to be pulling the head on my m42 later this week to get it professionally inspected, pressure tested and resurfaced. Since to do that, I assume I need to remove the cams, valves and everything else -- what else should I do?
The car has ~176k on it...should I replace the hydraulic lifters, bolts, anything? It ticks a little when you first start it up (1/2 the time anyway) but as soon as the oil fills the lifters, the ticking goes away.
