I liek 3 and 5 but 5 is my favorite because of the thinner font.

The thicker font is just awesome! It looks very aggressive. It reminds me of the expression the frontend e30's have.

Well I'm leaving for bimmerfest 06 tomorrow morning, won't have a computer all weekend, so I hope you guys can fight it out and decide on a final style :) Once I get back, I'll get some more sample decals printed up and you guys can say Yay or nay, and we'll go from there.

Dummy!
« Reply #35 on: April 05, 2006, 02:08:26 PM »
The crash test dummy thing is a shape that can be oriented accurately in 3D computer modeling. It is aligned to the three axis of CD computer space  The BMW roundel is a stylized airplane propeller referring to the companies origin as an aircraft manufacturer until after WWII when they were prohibited from doing military/aircraft production. I'm for #4 or the first of the second group of examples. I would like to see the M a little to the left and the outlined dummy dot on the baseline.

How much would a sticker with the forum M42CLUB.COM cost with the same colors (using 3)?  That woul dbe MY choice.

I am a fan of #3.  To be honest, I like it with the BMW roundel (minus the BMW), but alas, even though clubs all over have used it without license, I like the idea of us staying legit in all respects.  #3 +1.

Well I had my friend make up a couple samples of what our decals could look like. All I need is everyone's approval, any other suggestions, and we can go from there. Keep in mind, this is only a sample, he has many other colors that can be used.  Here's an image of what they look like in red, white, and black.

Okay, first of all...  I love the idea!  Yes, let's get some M42Club decals made.  But, I would rather get a small round colorful window decal than a big bumper sticker sized vinyl sticker.  I love the script, but I agree with asubimer, that I think it will stand out too much.  You know, like the guys driving Accords with the "Powered by Honda" on it.  I think we can make it smaller and intergrate it into a little window decal.

Let's make something small and tastefull.  The E30 M3 SIG (stands for E30 M3 "Special Interest Group") made one that is very nice, round, and about the same size as the BMWCCA window decal.

Most people put them in thier rear 3/4 window and it doesn't take up much room.  Looks nice.  I'll post a picture of it later tonight when I get home for discussion.  In the grand scheme of things, it won't be much more expensive.

I bought a few of the e30tech ones a while back and decided not to use them.  I think one is on my toolbox or something though.  Just too big and tacky for the car.

I love the idea so far, just not this particular style.  Just my $0.02.  Anyone else think it should be a small inside window decal?  I think this is a first class web forum, so let's carry that out and make our decals look 1st class too!!!

Actually, I just found it.  See pic below.  Really looks classy!  I like this size and placement.  I'm sure the graphic arts talents of the group can up with something similar but unique to the M42.

What do you think?
